It's official

Are you guys pumped that the Big10 is bringing in more uppity super liberal university presidents that have a say about football? I'm not
First thing I thought.
With the way those people inject their politics into every single thing imaginable, this will have an affect on the entire conference, and since Nebraska is a part of that conference, it will be affecting us as well.

Doesn't the pack 12 champion get an auto bid to the expanded playoff. If I'm the four remaining schools I keep the confence at 4 teams and have a 25 percent chance of an auto bid. It's better than merging with the Mountain West.

5+ hours for me - I'm so excited! Husky stadium is amazing - come prepared for rain!
Hey global warming has been kind to the puget sound. It will be fun to see the big10 here. To previous poster duck fans are horrible think arrogant mizzo fan. Missouri knew they sucked ducks think they walk on water

It will be great to have my Huskers playing only 2.5 hours from my home. I've been to three Husker games in Husky Stadium. They were nonconference games so all were in September and the weather was great. Now as conference games they could be in cloudy, drizzly October or November. (I may have to get Husky season tickets again).

I have already been looking forward to USC and UCLA games in LA as one of my best friends lives in the Belmont Shores area of Long Beach so I have a place to stay. He's a Husky and I took him to the game last time the Huskers played UCLA at the Rose Bowl Stadium in September. Bo was the coach, Taylor Martinez was the Qb.. Huskers lost but the pre-game and the stadium were a great time.

My Husky and Coug friends tell me the Duck fans are awful at Autzen Stadium. Did anyone have a different experience when the Huskers played in Eugene a few years ago. (Husky fans clear out of the stands early in the 3rd quarter if they are losing)
Plus alaska has direct flights to seattle from omaha

I heard a local media personality say that the Big 10 has emerged as “the winner” over the SEC.

Winners of what? A media created topic?

I still have yet to hear anything that explains how this makes the Big 10 better, wealthier and how it helps NU.

Payment has been diluted. Edit: for now payment has not been diluted?

Conference security has been solidified.

Its Big and Sec now, for better or worse. Acc is next, just a matter of time. Only ND can save them. If im the big im putting full court press on ND. I know people dont wanna hear that.
How does it help conference security? It adds nothing but travel expense and eventually dilutes revenue.

When you have teams wanting to get in and being added instead of teams wanting to leave for greener pastures, that's a sign of conference security. And more teams in a conference means the media companies cannot ignore you if they want to seriously televise college sports.

Sadly Oregon and Washington have been more competitive on the football field lately than our own pathetic records of the last few years so there should be good interest in their games with other B1G teams like Ohio State and Michigan.

There's no reason to believe that when the next contract is up for negotiation that the B1G won't be able to leverage Oregon and Washington as well. Last numbers I saw indicated Oregon was a good television draw. And now with all the West Coast teams now, there's also an option for a full night time slate of games to televise.

Yeah I only care about programs/teams/schedules.

I’ll let you worry about politics/feelings.
I’ll let you pretend that politics and programs/schedules have never intersected just within the past 3 years.

Did the PAC-12 not cancel their entire season? Does that not have to do with programs/teams/schedules?

Is there not currently a California-issued ban on state funded travel to Nebraska due to….mmmmmmmm POLITICS??

I’ll go ahead and report myself for this post even though it is 100% relevant to programs/teams/schedules.

Sounds good. I’ll let you worry about politics/feelings as well.

I still won’t.

You live in the Puget Sound region, so it is great for you the direct flights to Omaha on Alaska. I have flown out of SeaTac to Omaha a few times. It is fast. Living in the middle between Spokane and Seattle I prefer to fly out of Spokane. Their airport is on the west side of town, so I have no traffic and no mountain passes to cross. Parking is easier, closer and cheaper in Spokane and the airport is nowhere near as busy as SeaTac. Far easier to get through security and get to the gates. I have TSA Precheck. I do have to catch a connecting flight in Denver to get to Omaha, but usually I just go to Denver and then drive across because I typically also want to see my cousins and friends in Denver. Southwest flights are pretty cheap to Denver, but car rentals are more in Denver than Omaha.
I’m laughing…. Kind of
There are the pluses and minuses to adding the Huskies to the BIG. Washington does produce a lot of very fine athletes. Look at how many great basketball players come out of Seattle. The high school football completion level in the state is pretty good. I think it would surprise people how many good athletes come from this state. Athletes here have also shown a willingness to play outside of the state. U Dub athletic department has donors with very deep pockets. The downside is the politics of U Dub is extremely liberal and I don't think anyone has considered how that will impact the BIG. It is also a long flight up here to the far Northwest corner of the country.
