It's official

My prediction from 7/7/22 is now that much closer to coming to fruition
I expect the B1G and pac12 to merge and never win another championship in football or basketball ever again

I expect some form of an sec/ACC/big12/Notre dame/big East (hoops) amalgamation to form the other 65% of what will then be the top tier collegiate league, and all the champions in every sport to come from there

It will be great to have my Huskers playing only 2.5 hours from my home. I've been to three Husker games in Husky Stadium. They were nonconference games so all were in September and the weather was great. Now as conference games they could be in cloudy, drizzly October or November. (I may have to get Husky season tickets again).

I have already been looking forward to USC and UCLA games in LA as one of my best friends lives in the Belmont Shores area of Long Beach so I have a place to stay. He's a Husky and I took him to the game last time the Huskers played UCLA at the Rose Bowl Stadium in September. Bo was the coach, Taylor Martinez was the Qb.. Huskers lost but the pre-game and the stadium were a great time.

My Husky and Coug friends tell me the Duck fans are awful at Autzen Stadium. Did anyone have a different experience when the Huskers played in Eugene a few years ago. (Husky fans clear out of the stands early in the 3rd quarter if they are losing)

5+ hours for me - I'm so excited! Husky stadium is amazing - come prepared for rain!

Part of me thinks it's pretty cool to have Washington and Oregon in the conference. Solid additions for the conference. Welcome aboard to any of their fans that read here.

The other (larger) part of me hates the direction that college football has taken the past several years. Is what it is but I don't have to like it.

It amazes me that Nebraska started this trend of jumping major conferences in an effort to protect what they believed to be their best interests but by god if other institutions do the same it is the end of the world

The beginning of the end for the B1G. Too much travel for the minor sports. East coast to West coast for tennis and track will eat the school budgets up.
I’m not sure how tennis is run - but track has just a single conference meet to determine champions. Where and against whom a team competes in other meets has no bearing on conf affiliation. USC just has to show up for the big ten conf meet and never has to see any conf member any other time during the season

And in Oregon the BIG just inherited one of the premier track and field venues in the world. The last world championships were held in Eugene

Is the new TV deal signed yet - I can’t imagine these two added the same value so will we end up with more but not as much as we would have had we gone without them? Why would we break the prime pieces off the PAC12 and then go back and get the crumbs?

They got them on the cheap - the media partners have been involved. These additions are not diluting the payouts

Payment has been diluted. Edit: for now payment has not been diluted?

Conference security has been solidified.

Its Big and Sec now, for better or worse. Acc is next, just a matter of time. Only ND can save them. If im the big im putting full court press on ND. I know people dont wanna hear that.

This is so damn stupid. So they gonna have to redo all the schedules? Didn't they just do those fvcking things? Anyway...sorry. I'm out.
Back to divisions lol. Most of the pac will want to play with their own teams. Nebraska will play most of them along with a few others.

Notre Dame is one of the last that most would happily add.

I am disappointed. I thought that maybe the NCAA had already decreed Prime as the 2023-24 Coach of the Year on potential and the best Stetson viewing since Bum Phillips and his Houston Awlers AFC runner-up consolation of Coaching in the Pro Bowl. I do not mind Washington but that pajama party at Oregon just doesn't seem to fit in the B1G. What is next? Frost as Oregon OC again?

Are you guys pumped that the Big10 is bringing in more uppity super liberal university presidents that have a say about football? I'm not
I get that BUT the reason they are coming...is because of football money.

What did Machiavelli write (paraphrasing because I am too stupid to remember it all) we are selfish and filled with ego...

Those presidents want more money, not less.

The Ivy league is the only league that doesn't care...because of their endowments...which are long and distinguished like my johnson (Not machiavelli, but Slider, i think)
