There are a number of successful HS coaches who I suspect would prove themselves to be deserving if they were hired at a P5 school. Probably 80% of the college coaches today got there because of their career path. I'll take a guy who works there way up through the ranks any day over a guy who did two years as a grad assistant straight out of college.

You don't have to go back that far... Malachi Coleman was top 60 nationally and Trey palmer was top 20 by rivals (but out of the top 100 by other services).. Xavier Betts was also a top 60 player nationally

Damn right. He's got a bit of Malachi Corley in his game. I think he's another guy like Barney-- just get him on the field and get a ball in his hands with good placement and room to run.
