I support second chances in general, but it’s all about circumstances. We may not know all the details, but on the surface….
Betts did the proper thing and quit in the off- season. I’m still pretty hesitant with him, and frankly skeptical he can demonstrate the commitment needed to be a good asset.
Garcia-Castaneda quitting mid-season is a deal breaker for me. Unless there’s a great story there beyond what his dad said was “he wanted to be the #1 guy and MJ told him he’d have to earn it,” then I’m not sure why we’d even entertain it.
The next question is: Can we not find better options out there? These seem like semi-lazy choices for coaches.
