I'd be interested in hearing about the younger guys on the roster and what Dana and the other guy are up to with a new set of eyes
Well I heard the WRs can make the Kessel Run in 12 Parsecs. We are light years ahead of last years bowl practices.
My favorite.
Do you know what a light year is, Stupid?
Lol. It took them over 3 light years to make the Kessel Run. Time to hit the portal hard.Well I heard the WRs can make the Kessel Run in 12 Parsecs.
Not really. I think the local reporters are currently busy with other sports (in other words it's too cold out). But they get to see so little from the practices that I don't think it matters.I'd be interested in hearing about the younger guys on the roster and what Dana and the other guy are up to with a new set of eyes
I haven't heard about any. The local kids who are enrolling early that I know of are coming off injuries. I haven't heard of any out of state early enrollees who are moving to Lincoln before the holidays.Any idea which incoming recruits are participating in the practices if any?
According to Rhule, eight incoming HS recruits will be practicing with the team starting next week. I believe that includes TJ Lateef, the QB from California.I haven't heard about any. imagine that.. getting in a QB who is a "winner" and who has demonstrated winning at the prior level. People give Dion lot's of crap (including a lot of morons on this board) but the guy knows what the actual success formula is.are we doing anything like this with any of our early signees/enrollees?
if not, has our lapdog doormat media asked why?
seems like an obvious good idea
It's not likely we'll find any QBs who started every game as a freshman, went 6-6 and went on to "make it to a championship". A lot of the championship QBs joined programs that we already loaded- like Justin Lawrence or Caleb Williams. It's much more common to find QBs who started as a freshman and struggled, but went on to play very well.I'm not saying Raiola doesn't have talent, but how many 6-6 Freshman QB's go on to do great things?
I'm sure there is a stats guy out there that can provide examples of where a 6-6 true freshman makes it to a championship right? I mean anything is possible, I'm just not sure what the ceiling has been in the past for a guy like that.

Baker mayfield started as a frosh at TTechJayden Daniel went 8-5. 2-2, 8-5...
Bo Nix went 9-4, 6-5, 6-7
Drake Maye redshirted, 9-5, 8-5
Penix redshirted, 8-5, 6-2
Caleb Williams 11-2, 11-3, 8-5
McCarthy 12-2 as the backup, 13-1, 15-0
I mean, if we are going off freshman years, we all agree Caleb Williams is gonna be the best, right? Lol. People need to relax, 1 of the first rounders had 6 years in college, 2 had 5. It's a mixed bag.
Need to ask @NikkiSixx his definition of best.Baker mayfield started as a frosh at TTech
Not sure he was the day 1 starter though
Also - does “best” mean most team wins? Or best stats? If it’s the latter, you might want to look at Williams’s numbers again before you LOL
The last comment was a bad attempt at trolling because Williams is so unpopular around here. Looks like I got you. You know I'm far from a straight Williams hater.Baker mayfield started as a frosh at TTech

They had to go thru the same protocols as spring and fall practices though. Shells and no contact for the first few practices. All of our early enrollees are participating in practice.
Disappointed to see Jones is not among those who traveled with the team. All of our early enrollees are participating in practice.
I was thinking in terms of team wins. I don't care about a QB's personal stats.Baker mayfield started as a frosh at TTech

in general, Sanders has been around more winning than most people.. I get that people hate on him, but when I see him bring up their next QB as being a kid who knows winning in hs, that rings a bell with me. It's something I have always believed in, yet we go after lots of guys and it's rarely mentioned by whomever our coaching staff is at the time, that they went after a kid because he actually won a lot of games.Sanders career record at Colorado is 13-11 not sure that is a success formula.
Do you believe that McCord would have had lead Nebraska to more wins than Raiola?
Raiola’s ceiling is an individual thing. I don’t believe anyone in the NFL is saying well shit he was 6-6 as a true freshman in the big ten. He is no longer a 1st round talent.
What you are referring to is the level of talent that surrounds the QB and how that affects the team’s ceiling.
Then define “great things”. Again are you talking about just doing great things at Nebraska or great things individually for the next 12-15 years?
Lastly, your pool of QBs that played as true freshman is small, then take into account teams that play for titles in the CFP era is equally small, 15 different teams in the playoff and only 9 that played for a championship. So I would say the odds of 9 or 15 teams that would have had a 6-6 record with a true freshman QB is probably nonexistent.
