Is it just me, or do the 49ers look like they are going to be better.

Expectations seem to be for a collapse after the departure of Harbaugh The Magnificent and all those players but at least in the preseason they look like a better team. Makes you kind of wonder if maybe the GM was right. That one will be fun to watch at least for a little while.

You can't judge a team based off preseason games. The 0-16 Lions had a great preseason, going 4-0 and winning a combined 80-32. Preseason football is to evaluate a individual players and to work on situations. Kaepernick is going to have to blossom into a great to elite QB for them to be good. No more relying on a great D. Some key retirements (expected and unexpected) and a bunch of low character guys getting into trouble have depleted what was a top 3 Defense pretty recently. I am skeptical Kaep can carry the team in that division. You never know though the NFL always has a couple big surprises and that is what makes it the most popular league in sports.

not a chance

I expect that you guys are right especially over the whole season that's why I said it would be fun to watch at least for a little while. Kind of like a car wreck where nobody gets hurt. I realize the preseason has limited value. Obviously they have some problem children dating all the way back to when Singletary tried to flip the culture out there. It IS possible though that it is addition by subtraction. They had a lot of guys that obviously really didn't want to play football and were just collecting a check and Harbaugh seems to have made a mess of things out there. It would delight me to see a no name line coach come in there, do a good job of coaching and win more games than the Magnificent Harbaugh did last year.

It's just you. They won't be a good team.
As I posted, I expect that to be the case but it would be fun to see the 49ers be better without Harbaugh and for Jimmie to fall flat on his face at Michigan now wouldn't it? Wishful thinking but I try to have a positive outlook. :) My only interest in the 49ers stem from all the Husker greats that played there back in the day. I had to root for them back then.

If Michigan never wins another football game in my lifetime, it will be too soon for me. But I seriously doubt that Harbaugh is going to be a flop hire.

But if I'm wrong, I'll be glad to come back here and admit it, in the inevitable thrice-daily See-I-told-you-Harbaugh-was-gonna-suck threads.

I agree that Harbaugh will probably do fine at UM but the more I see his bizarre behavior at press conferences the more I wonder. He's a good coach but he's already pissed off a bunch of the local media there.

Are you joking? They will be in a fight with the Redskins, Browns and Jets for the number 1 overall pick in the draft.
