Is Iowa our Superbowl?

Your disdain for all things Nebraska Football is palpable, based on your recent posting history. If you have this much disdain for "our" team, why bother?

Being completely sarcastic. I knew people would enjoy

I do not believe my posts have showed any disdain for Neb. Only disdain is toward posters guaranteeing a win Friday.

If we move back to the Big 12, and this is an 14-0 Iowa team in the finals of the college football playoffs, then yeah I'd consider it a super bowl.

It's an unusual opportunity to end the season on a high note. Unusual because we aren't normally coming off this kind of low. Also unusual because our Black Friday opponent is normally an afterthought by game time.

This is nothing more than a consolation game for us. We've been eliminated from anything considered good in terms of college football bowl games. Don't get me wrong, I want us to win, just like I want us to win every other game. But, it's just another game at this point.

This is a big game for Husker fans that have friends that are Fighting Herk fans. Other than that, nobody cares west of Omaha and east of.....we will say....... Harlan.

To me it`s the last game on the schedule, nothing more.
What is the mood about Riley? Is his job safe or does he need to worry like his job is on the line. Things were pretty rough earlier this season. Do you think he is the future of Husker football?

Pretty much this. We don't really have much to lose other than a bottom tier bowl game. Iowa's entire season in on the line. Zero chance they make the playoff if they lose to us regardless of how they do in the CCG. A loss to a 5-6 team at the end of the season kills any hope they have.
I would think Iowa would be a little more hungrier with more to lose! Iowa has been a pretty good road team and good team all season. Add to the game the comments your AD made after the game last season... Game has been circled for a long time... With all the comments and insults made by both fan bases at each other, this game is probably the biggest all season for both teams. Lots to play for and this is what this game should be all about! I know when its all said and done that crow will be eaten by one fan base and I hope a respect will be given to the loser whether it is Iowa or Nebraska... Here is to a great game!

The day Iowa is our "Super Bowl", is the day Nebraska should just scrap the football program and take up water polo.
More concerned with just breaking .500 and getting to a bowl. Doesn't matter one bit who the opponent is.
The only reason this game has more attention towards it is Iowas rank, not because it's Iowa.

thanks ... I'll hang up and listen
No. For 1 it is Iowa, until they consistently put up solid seasons they are nobodies superbowl. It is an important game for us in the fact a win will show if things are starting to fall into place. It shows if Riley can consistently win important games. It will get us to a non losing record. It will let us get to a bowl and get extra practices. That is about it.

I disagree. If Iowa loses tomorrow they still have the CCG and a major bowl game to play, whereas Nebraska has to win in order to even practice again.

An Iowa loss means they are out of the NC talk and have to then refocus for what the B1G has loved for years the Rose Bowl. They lose Friday they lose to the big brother who doesn't even see them as a rival and the playoffs but at least until Michigan St beats them next week they can still see the Rose Bowl in their future.

When Iowa State has a winning record against you the past decade then you lose the right to be anyone's Super Bowl game.

No, we don't have a Super Bowl unless for the MNC.
We fckd around and lost some games.

I think we win by 10.

Big brother? Lol. If the Hawks lose today they'll be 11-1, and if they lose on the 5th they'll be 11-2. I think that's a lot better than being 6-6, don't you? No matter what happens, 2015 will always be a good year for Iowa and an embarrassment for Nebraska.

Ever heard of the little brother who did better one year in school or got a date from the hot girl in class.

You're enjoying your year in the spotlight. Good enjoy it. Over the next five years you're going to be less than Nebraska next ten years as well. You're program has the occasional great season enjoy it but know your role and place.

You all sure act like the insecure little brother. And the on the field results against big brother has not been in your favor.

Oh please. Iowa has a wealth of talent returning next year and their 2016 recruiting class is in the top 25. But that's just the beginning, Iowa's new football complex is going to keep Iowa competitive for years to come, and we're going to see a huge increase in recruiting talent because of it.
