Is Foley still on staff?

Just not as ST coach?
I don’t believe so , but Will will wait for the official announcement. It’s interesting because Foley wasn’t the only coach that his contract expired. Believe the RB coach also .Hopefully Rhule updates everything when Folyes replacement is announced.

Still on Huskers.com as coordinator so obviously that’s wrong but if he was gone from the program one would think he would have been deleted by now.
I don’t think they have updated to the new roster yet. Looks like it is still the 2024 roster, which he will forever be a part of, as all the seniors and outgoing transfers are still listed.

Did he do that with anybody besides Satterfield? Satterfield is supposedly actually a really good TE coach so it makes sense.

I keep seeing this posted, but I'm curios where it comes from? Quick look at his wiki page shows he was a TE coach a total of 2 years throughout his 25 year coaching career. That was at Baylor for Rhule's last two years there. Seems like a "really good TE coach" would have more experience at it than that.

More glaring is that Rhule has drug him along everywhere he's been over the last 12 years, minus the 2 years he was at South Carolina. Rhule obviously sees something in him. Or Satterfield knows where all the bodies are buried or something.

Has he retained any of his other staff instead of firing them or only Satterfield?
I keep seeing he has a hard time firing them, he demotes them instead of fires them but I’m not familiar with any other instance.

I’m not sure about him being a good TE coach. I said “supposedly” because that’s what a lot of people have said. I guess we will find out.

Agreed. Satterfield just kind of does whatever depending on what is open.

If anyone ever says "nice guys finish last" now I always say "what about Satterfield?". Really nice guy apparently, doing pretty well financially compared to the average Joe.
I would as well. Especially if they were my friends.
Well this is a real catch 22 since every coach we have ever hired has said they can only work with their friends or family. Totally understandable since all of us also only work with our friends and family and cannot figure out how to get along with people at work we didn't know beforehand. Also think of all the success you've had going into business with friends and family. It always works and never causes problems. If everyone just went out and hired the most qualified person all the time the whole economy would probably implode.

I think what makes coaching different is that those guys DO think they are doing a great job and that they are doing it the right way. So it makes it really hard to can your staff.

He just retained the young WR coach. Moved into an analyst role or something. Then he ended up finding another job a few weeks later.

If I had to guess, being reassigned like that also involves a considerable pay cut that says its time for you to move on. But rather than fire you, you will be treated with dignity for serving this university until you find another position. Which is exactly what happened.

Now it may not happen that way with Satt and Foley, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear at some point of those guys moving on.

No there isn’t. Presently there are 137 players on the roster..
