I always thought this drop was unbelievable. I was wondering if anyone ever heard anything more then rumors?

I doubt he purposely dropped it, but his attempt (or lack thereof) to go after the ball again right after it bounced off his hands isn't what I thought it would be. Just looks like he stuck his hands out and didn't really attempt to catch it.

Again, that's just what it looks like to me, not saying he meant to drop it.

It was right before Jeff Smith scored to pull the game to 31-30. Just over a minute left when this drop happened.

Supposedly some people were very happy at his hot potato attempt in the endzone.

I grew up always hearing lots of rumors about that missed catch and other things that supposedly took place during halftime.

It was always very suspicious to me. I liked him and he just straight up dropped a can of corn in the endzone at the most crucial point in the game. After he missed it, it he didn't even look like he had dropped a catch in a sixth grade flag football game. Odd. Considering his early NFL career, it is more suspicious. Dude was a mess as a youngster. He eventually got it together and became a solid pro.

I can't remember all of them (I think there were 2 or 3 different ones) as I haven't even really thought about them in 15-20 years, but one was that Rozier was more concerned about working deals with an agent than the game. I'd like to note that it was just a rumor I always heard as a kid growing up. I always take rumors like that with a grain of salt.

Good God, receivers drop passes. It happens to even the best. We still scored on the drive anyway. Our defense lost us the game. They weren't the best that year.
What a bunch of bs based off of rumors and whispers and 'gut feelings', but of course, nothing concrete and of substance. Upsets happen. Deal

He didn't just drop that pass. He did worse then not even try to catch it. He pulled his hands away and apart from the ball.

That play will always be a black eye on a great game for me. A blind man can see how odd that drop was. The effort looks suspect and I almost never believe in conspiracy theories.

People questioned wether it was bad enough to call it a game. Or wether he did it because of potentially hurting is draft position. Was an agent involved with that decision, who knows? But i know there was some really worried people in South Stadium over when Mike hired and retained his agent?

I just never saw it that way - If you look close He had to reach back to get his hands on the ball, when the ball came off his hands his forward momemtum had already carried him away from the ball. Fryar was such a smooth athlete even his drops looked a little diffferent

I ain't buying it. I've watched that play over 2 dozen times. Watch his hands, especially when the ball touches them. He almost flips up his hands looking like he was trying to catch it but it was the most lame catch I've ever seen. The guy was a great receiver. I have no proof, just my opinion, but that was done on purpose.

technically Rozier should have been ineligible to play in that game since he signed with an agent before the game ...I was 10 when that game happened I remember so much from that day...the Rose Bowl game before it involved UCLA with Neuheisal at qb beating Illinois

I loved the heart our team showed. Gill's perfectly run option and Smith wouldn't be denied the endzone. We did all we could do as far as heart goes. Sometimes things don't go your way. But our heart and pride is rock solid.

I have always believed that Fryar dropped that on purpose. I came to this conclusion a long time ago before anyone mentioned suspicions. I watched every game Fryar played for Nebraska, including all the home freshman games.

A very big game and many bets being placed. A New Jersey kid taking cash on his way out.

Despite his talents and being the only Husker WR to go number 1 in the draft, Fryar will always be one my least favorite Huskers of all time. Fryar didn't even to try to catch it, he seemed to tip it away on purpose. Thank goodness for Smith. I don't know how Fryar could look at his teammates and coaches afterwards, especially Gill his "friend".
