Having more and more short term drops on my internet service. I looked it up on line and thought maybe my modem is getting old, maybe they wear out, mine is about 5 years old. I called time warner today and they did testing while on phone said they just needed to add codes to the modem from their office and that will fix the issue of intermittant dropping, they said it wasnt the modem wearing out. Does that make since to someone who understand this issue????

Sounds reasonable to me. If you've had very reliable service for the last five years then evaluate your modem's operation after their update. If your service returns to reliable then be happy. If not, then either have your ISP replace your modem (if you lease it) or purchase your own (make sure the replacement is on your ISP's approved list). Note that you current modem is considered a combo cable modem/wi-fi router. So, if you are using the router (and not your own) you'd want to get a similar model or purchase a modem and router separately.
it could be.. they can adjust the frequency for the channels being bonded, which might help. There are also a lot of internet denial of service attacks going on lately, so certain sites might seem slow or spotty in their responsiveness. If you have a stand alone webcam, you could also try taking it offline, as those are the big source of the recent dos attacks.

Well appears to have worked was dropping everyday here and there for 1-5 mins now no droppin in last 36 hours
