Inept across the board. Purge.

You’re throwing the baby out with the wash water with a couple of those names. Hopefully more thoughtful sorting than that takes place. Fresh start for everybody shortly.
Yep. Black Saturday is coming for the football program. This program needs to be completely torn down. We are a condemned building with bums living in it that was once the crown jewel of the city. Best thing to do is tear it all down and build this thing from the ground up. Program is rotten to the core. This needs to be a 21st century Nebraska. What do we want to look like as an organization? What's our identity? Where do we recruit? What's our system? I'd look to what Harbaugh has built at Michigan. That can work here.

I question any coach who thought remaining or coming to this program with Frost entering year 5 was a competent career choice

They either don’t know football, didn’t have any other options and/or were in it just for a paycheck ….

Or maybe they love the school and wanted to help

There are some decent coaches on the staff, but no one that puts their pants on any different than dozens of other coaches that are out there. I won't blink an eye if it is a complete 100% purge. I really worry that if ANY of this roster is coached by ANY of the same guys that some of this retched stink will carry over. Better for these kids to hear all new voices starting ASAP.

Sellout streak…

Was at the game today with a friend who grew up in Wisconsin. They announced the sellout and he laughed his ass off looking at all the empty seat around us - let alone throughout the entire stadium. I understand how we do it, but that tradition has been a joke for years.
Maybe true but you shouldn't hang out with douche bags.

100%. I went and froze my ass off at Memorial today. It was butt-ass cold and windy. Blowing a 14-3 lead late in the game in this weather should never happen to a Wisconsin team with an interim head coach and internal turmoil. But alas, we are also a team in the exact same spot – but they still have a semblance of an identity thanks to Benedict Alvarez, and we don’t have one whatsoever. And that’s why we lost.

Our trenches, development, external and internal recruiting, late-game mindset, and football athletic department have been complete paper tigers. Our football program has been run into the ground by a lot of complacent people in the AD offices and West Stadium. I can’t believe Trev Alberts took this job head on. Cheers to 6 more days of this BS.

I think you can do that while retaining some pieces. It starts with the new head coach and his coordinators. Coordinator hires will be as big as the head coach IMO

I've said it before. Fire everyone from the AD down to the dish washers and custodians. The program has been rotten inside for 20 years. The piss-poor attitudes permeate the entire athletic department. I remember working in the AD as an UNL employee in the early 2000's, and even when the program was garbage the people in the West Stadium acted like they were gods.
I think this is the truth and it's a hard pill for some to finally gulp down.

Sadly, that is true. And it shows

I believe that and have stated same before about athletic department staff. Glad someone else sees it. Back in the 70, 80,90 s they were gracious and welcoming and worked hard. Lately they're entitled and lazy

Drain the swamp

From before the kickoff until the last play. Purge. Purge. Purge. Bye Mickey and whip.
I missed the game, today. Went to a friend's funeral over in the Seattle area. I will watch it later. Watched the last minute or so live on my phone. I was with another Husker fan, a Husky fan and a K-State fan. The Husky fan is not sure the Huskers will ever get back. He said this as a compliment, "You are (Husker fans) the nicest losers in college football". He elaborated on his statement by saying we remain loyal and keep supporting our team no matter how bad they get. He isn't so sure the Huskers will ever be good again. Same old stuff. Why would a kid go to Lincoln when he could go somewhere else. I am telling you all I was barely treading water in my defense of the program and its potential.

Sorry for your loss. Your friend is partially right and being a little hyperbolic. We will likely never get back to that super elite level, but a 9 win bowl team with a shot here and there at bigger things can happen within 2 seasons. Maybe 1. Silly to think they won’t be at least good again, but until it happens, I guess I will be the wrong person.

I’m sure at some point after their last natty MN thought they’d be relevant again too.

Duval, Raiola, Whipple, Ruud, Beckton, Fisher, and Dawson all need to be shown the door. Applewhite, Mickey, and Busch should get a look by the next coach.

We also need to let go a lot of scholarship players. Benhart, Piper, Hickman, Purdy, Smothers, Haarberg, R. Johnson, Pola-Gates, Hutmacher among many others need to be shown the door too.
Wish I could like this 3 times. Especially our worthless QB room below Thompson. “Four stars” from small schools that can’t throw a damn football.

Johnny Classless!

Fisher is definitely overrated. I'm not even sure about Applewhite. I'm ok keeping MJ and Busch but the rest can hit the road.
Outside of recruiting energy, what has Mickey done to impress you with his coaching skills? Do you believe the WR room plays smart, disciplined football? Few to no drops by your starters…etc? Just curious where the fable of the masterful coaching job that MJ does was born. Good, energetic recruiter? Yes. What else can he hang his hat on during his time in Lincoln? Likeable, good guy? Definitely. Bush has improved the defensive side of the ball.

I’m sure whipple can’t help but throw his pants when he tries to put them on

Joseph isn’t going to get the HC job, nor should he. But I can’t agree that he’s worse than Frost. Teflon Scotty got 5 years and all the resources in the world, and he shit the bed at every turn.
They both suck-ass.

I'm not sure how many "decent" coaches are on a staff of a soon to be 3-9 team, but I get what you are saying.

I’m sure they were / will be compensated well. If they truly are good at what they do, they’ll land on their feet somewhere.
