In the last 15 years what recruit that didn't sighn with Nebraska really hurt us. I'm going to say Blaine gabbert that 2009 defense was special and with competent offense that season good of been special

I agree about Gabbert. With a good QB that team could definitely have been a national title contender

4* Freeman would have been a senior on that 2009 team (I think he only went 3 years in college because Ron prince was gone after 3 years), where 5* Gabbert would have been a sophmore.

Either way, one of those two players would have made a big difference in 2009 with their abilities. Lee was good, but I believe it was his first year here.

Maybe getting Freeman would have led to a couple top WRs that would have helped in 2009 too. Who knows, but Freeman gets my vote if he would have stayed 4 years, otherwise Gabbert.

Travis Lewis definitely would have helped too. I paid attention to his OU career because of his late decommit.

He absolutely WAS NOT!
Lee was not very good. I know there were some on here who thought he got a raw deal from Bo. Bo started Martinez over Lee in his senior year after Lee opted for off season surgery that Bo disapproved of. Or something like that....But from what I saw Lee had limited arm strength and very little mobility.

Josh Freeman and Gabbert all the way. The 2009 to 2011 seasons take on a whole new complexion with those two QBs.

Nebraska definitely goes 11-1 or 12-0 in 2009 with Freeman at the helm. Nebraska would've lost to Bama in 2009, but Suh and company would have abused their offensive line and kept it close.

Agreed. That defense could keep us in any game against any team. Geez... if we had had an offense with even a faint pulse we would have beaten Texas in the title game going away.
