Really?? How much worse can it get? We went 12-19. Lost the last 5, 4 of which were blowouts and were non-competitive. Worst home loss in school history. 4 players transfer after the season, including 2 core rotational players who played major minutes. Worst record after 5 years in school history (And that's with an arena that's sold out every home game!) My understanding is if not for Kenya Hunter, the roster would be even more depleted.
So where's the upside to keeping him?? All I'm hearing and reading form local media is a) We don't invest enough in the program (How about luring Hunter from Georgetown and Lewis from Butler? That doesn't count?) or b.) Transfers are part of college basketball...look at Memphis they had 6 transfers!! (Who gives a crap? That's an isolated, unique situation)
At the end of the day, you make a leadership move for 2 reasons (outside of some sort of impropriety) 1. Poor results 2. Poor Trend line, or trending in the wrong direction. We are currently both. I'm honestly surprised someone as smart and savvy as Eichorst is tolerating it.
