I refuse. Just like they have been saying players gotta make the damn plays. IGC needs to catch the punt. Benhardt needs to make the block. Neyor needs to catch the ball. Snapper needs to make a good snap Bullock needs to tackle Johnson.

You wanna add Raiola and Shavers fine but If the guys who they are dependent on do their jobs Shavers or Raiola doesn't have to make those plays.

Nah this ain't coaches ...This is on a group of upperclassmen who I appreciate and love and am super happy that they will be gone.

I'd blame them all, that way they all know they need to improve.

at least there's a bowl game, I guess

at least we don't have to sweat anyone going to the nfl early :/

I don't know what the coaches did wrong. Not kneel down there? Fumbling there was the one thing they could not do. Iowa went looking to strip the ball. Results go to the team that does what it needs to do.
Shoulda never been in that situation if the 8 million dollar man actually does his job throughout the year.

You are correct sir.

Even my son who is a Manchester United fan knows.........

Not the Xs and Os....................

But apparently some guys on here that are a couple decades older haven't learned that yet.

Another thread where someone thinks these seniors leaving will change it around. Make them the scapegoats if you must.

We cherry pick a handful of plays that didn’t go our way. What about our unwillingness to make plays? The coaches have not installed a winning mentality.

I seen a couple passes that got a lil deflected and it did'nt seem like the recivers did'nt have quick hand-eye coordination.
maybe they did'nt get a flu shot

Which of these things happened that you believed the coaches "coaches" them to do?

Is Bullock coached to miss that tackle on the Johnson long run?

Snapper coaches to make a bad snap right there?

Neyor coached to drop a pass that might've been a TD and hit him in the hands?

IGC coached to not fair catch that punt WITHOUT alerting everyone to get out of the way?

We think OL coach Raiola coaches Benhardt to give up the edge allow that strip sack?

Again like I said blame Dylan if you want because he DOES need to protect the ball but does it happen if Benhardt makes the block?

Shavers touching the ball first is debatable..BUT if IGC fair catches the damn thing does that even happen?

Again that's PLAYERS NOT MAKING CRUCIAL PLAYS IN times where they are needed.

But like I said blame the coaches if you want to ..

I don't know OP, it seems like maybe you're right if you look at it from a just this game perspective but I think at the end of the day you have to look at it from a season or longer perspective. And I think there is where you can argue fairly easily that the coaches are not getting the job done.

Small things add up. Bad snap on a FG kick. A bunch of missed tackles. Not making easy catches. Ball security. False starts.
Some of those are big things. Look its impossible to not make mistakes in a game. Every team is going to miss tackles (and our guys did a great job tonight), you are always going to have penalties.

The issue is that the issues we saw tonight are REPEAT ISSUES. Special teams, snapping blunders. Returning kicks when we can't get to the 20...again and again. Failure to run the ball when its working. Clock issues (although that did not directly hurt us, it is bad to see it yet again!). Rinse, wash, repeat.

It is on the coaches to teach the players the skills needed to make the plays that are called. Or to replace said players with someone who can catch a punt, make a block, snap the ball. Or adjust your playing-calling to plays that your team is capable of making.
Why not just tell your players to take a fair catch on all KOs, since we kept giving up 7-8 yards of field position on each KO?
Or tell your punt returners to just get away from the ball in these conditions? Especially up 10-0 when the ball was not going to roll very far anyway?
Blame the players all you want. But our room was screaming on every punt to just get away from it. Our guys looked uncomfortable on every single punt…

I blame them, not knowing their personal and tendencies of that personal. I also blame the Head Coach for the piss poor special teams all year. How long does it take till you figure it out.

The way you think, we shouldn't need coaches at all.

The issues we saw tonight are repeat issues.

But it’s not just seniors that don’t make plays. The most obvious one is #15 on the offense he is turning out to be Adrian Martinez….guaranteed turnover with the game on the line. Hope Danny Kaelin can show up and push #15 to be better if he wants to keep he starting job.

The reverse to Nelson was mind numbing…

They gave those guys opportunities to make plays and they made some plays. Number 4 made a number of good plays. Raiola made several good plays. Hell Bullock made several good plays on defense.

It's not that they didn't make plays. Give them credit for the plays that they made . But they gotta get blame for the plays they DONT make. Especially when it's routine shit that costs a game.

I was specifically referring to the seniors being scapegoats. Some of the major mess ups were made by seniors yes but it’s been season long on here blaming them for everything by some people.

I blame them all...Players botched some pretty makable plays; OTOH, crumbling at the end of games just seems to permeate throughout the program. That seems to be more than just an execution problem.

I agree for the most part but we are seeing a lot of signs that these coaches lack a lot, so we have to hope their supposed strengths overcome those weaknesses.
