Ignoring the reality of the situation is helping no one

I don' think that is true either. I am in a much happier mood when Nebraska wins. My dogs stay in the room with me when watching the Huskers on TV when we are winning. Not so much when we are losing.

My dog is just the opposite. He comes over to investigate why I'm yelling when we are losing.

Some of you guys just need to stop with the "Reaches" justifying why the Riley era is off to such a poor start

Ignoring the issues with coaching will just lead to no changes and more misery - I am not saying fire anyone but these guys need to know the job they have done so far is not acceptable

They don't know that already? smh

I don't know if another coach would have won more or less games with this same team this season. That would be mere speculation. What I do know is it has been a pretty easy schedule so far and our record is 3-6. I am not saying we should be undefeated, but all those games were very winnable. Michigan State should be by far the best team we play this year. Let's see how Nebraska stacks up against them. .

Pretty easy schedule? We may not have a ton of juggernauts on this schedule but I'm not sure I'd say "easy."

BYU is 7-2 with a win over a top 20 team (at the time) and a one point loss to a top 10 team.
Southern Alabama is 4-4
Miami is 6-3
Southern Miss is 6-3
Ilinois is 5-4
Wisconsin is 8-2
Minnesota is 4-5
Northwestern is 7-2 and ranked in teh top 25
Purdue sucks
Michigan state was undefeated and ranked in the top 10.

In other words, there is currently one team on the schedule that isn't likely to qualify for a bowl and over half of our opponents have already qualified for a bowl. Compare that to the last couple of seasons. on the whole, this is a pretty good schedule.

We are going to have talent years like this from time to time, it's just the nature of fickle kids/transfers/misses/location/etc. If you're elite the key is to have coaching and walkons to mitigate. If we have another rash of injuries in a future season does this year repeat itself? Or does coaching and walkons keep us above 7 wins?

If we are ever this low on the talent level again, it will be time to replace the coaching staff again.
