i can't figure this hoop team out...

Like it or not, we play better when he’s on the floor. We fell apart when they subbed him out early in the game. Just the way I see it.
Not that it was Sam’s fault, but he was still on the floor during Oregon’s run at the end of the first half. It came after Worster got his second foul and Ulis became a turnover machine.

Not a great look for Ulis given his past at Iowa lol.

Ok I stand corrected. Good catch.

At the risk of showing unwarranted optimism - the next 3 road games are certainly “winnable”, understanding road wins in the B1G are a premium. The Home schedule has some land mines waiting, but 10-10 is back within reach.

He isn't a true point guard but he hustles like crazy on defense, has a high basketball IQ, doesn't usually turn it over, makes an occasional three, gets some steals and rebounds, makes free throws and tends to see his other four teammates on the floor with him. And who else do we have on the bench that can do those things.

We had a discussion about this last week. I listed the remaining game and said if we can get to 19-20 wins including a win in the BIG we have a chance to make the tourney. At that point we were at 12 wins and it seemed improbable....but alas here we are at 14 wins.. We have knocked of 4 ranked teams. 2 on the road I believe.

So what's left? can we get 5-6 of these next 10 games? Plus 1 in the BIG? Should be fun to watch.

Probably need to be .500 in conference play. But that depends on what other teams do what our wins look like. We get 2 more quad 1 wins, that would put us at 6 or 7 quad 1 wins. That might be enough even if we’re a game below .500 in conference.

No matter how we slice it we were out of the the picture a week ago and now back in it. I say fvck it, win like 6-7 in row and make the decision easy for the committee.

Ulis is just flat cringe worthy most of the time. I think he can be helpful when we need to shut down an opponents PG from scoring and controlling the game. He’s a solid defender but… that’s about it.
