I'm gonna really start to question Rhule's process if HH isn't the starter.
Haarberg should start the rest of the year and be the incumbent next year

He needs to start Heinrich, there are two games now where he can develop a bit and get ready for the B1G.
As opposed to however many Sims has thrown straight to defenders. I'll take Haarberg at this point.
Haarberg has now led as many TD drives as Sims this year (And Sims was on a trick play).
Plus Haarberg could still develop and improve, while Sims is in his 4th year as a D1 starting QB.

I think taking away 6 TO’s (or however many he has) the last two weeks would have made a huge difference.
I didn’t say that I would take Simms instead. I’m saying that HH got lucky that Fidone made a play or else it would have been an INT.

Fidone made the play he should have. Regardless - it wasn’t a turnover and Sims dropped two on the turf that were perfect snaps and couldn’t make a proper handoff.
Plus made that absolutely ridiculous decision to run out of bounds. Sims is straight up losing us games and shattering team resolve.
Yeah, and it would have been the best looking pick of the season by a Husker qb. He at least throws with confidence and has some zip on his passes. A young guy slinging a hard pass that is a little off is way different than a veteran telegraphing throws to the other team.
At this point, Haarberg should be the starter simply on the basis of not turning the ball over 8 billion times.
There isn't a play sims made today that HH couldn't make.
Sims will dull my enthusiasm for Husker football because if they don't bench him this year then he's probably starting next year. The guy doesn't need 27+ starts to figure it out. He is what he is.
Nebraska doesn't have a college qb on the roster. That one falls on Rhule IMO. He let the 2 best qbs on the roster leave and now has nothing. Might as well throw HH out there and then legit go after 2 real qbs in the portal and hope DK is for real or the program is done.
This x 1,000. Skill sets look the same but one guy has 26 starts and still can't read a defense or take a snap.
Casey and Logan are starting at other schools. Both are worlds better than sims.

Could have at least seen what he could do, possibly even mount a comeback, if Sims was benched at 2 minutes left in the first half like he should have been.

Pushed out vs didn't try that hard to keep him might be the question. I think everyone knew Sims would be the annointed starter no matter what, and I think Thompson isn't stupid a d saw that. If Thompson had a legitimate shot at continuing to start, do you really think he leaves?
He should. Sims is not going to get it done and it’s clear he will keep putting the Defense in holes.

No…he left because the O-line about got him killed last year. The O-line is pathetic! Going on 6 years now. They have no business playing! As long as they are starting and Sims is QB it is going to be a $hitshow on Offense.
I feel sorry for Sims, he seems like a hard worker and he cares. This has to be killing him. But the evidence is he just is not making good decisions and misses the fine details. The kid can run like a deer and a wildcat package might be something. But one or both of the other two QBs have to be playing now.
