Huskers up 46-35 on Creighton

Oh look itā€™s my clingy pet chimp spending his Friday night with the only opportunity he has, parsing through old Someday material again. šŸ˜•

My words still stand, Fred had a slow start and was the better hire. He was always more professional and something really clicked with Fred the moment Trev Alberts got here.

You on the other hand are STILL nearly radio silent since Fred has turned it around: ā€œGreat win!ā€ ā€œGo team!ā€ vs your multiple, miles-long suicide watch threads that you start after every loss šŸ¤£

Hereā€™s you in March:
All you losers who fell for it are reeling

Fred blows & is stealing from people just like you

Are we to assume you donā€™t watch Husker basketball anymore so that Fred canā€™t ā€œstealā€ from you?

I was posting all game in the other thread.

Sorry for exposing you.

Diaper cream should help your severe case of butthurt.

I have been an outspoken critic of Hoiberg

Would never say otherwise

Hope he proves me wrong and becomes the best coach in Nebrasketball history
He already is the best head coach we've had in my eyes. I add value to the record for things you don't seem to appreciate. Being a head coach involves more than the winning percentage. Danny Nee had some very good teams but man he fell short in some other areas and I liked Nee a lot. My kid during middle school got to sit next to the bench and be in the locker room with the team at a home game due to a basketball camp performance. His report on Danny's locker room coaching wasn't a positive. My kid was a very smart player and he said Nee's halftime rants and rants in the huddles made no sense whatsoever. Every other word was f### and they weren't any kind of instruction. I remember people not being able to understand Nee's late game substitutions at times. It was if he had money on us losing and he had those kind of connections back east. My kid had come home from camp that summer and told me about a little point guard he couldn't believe. It was Tyronn Lue before his freshman year. He loved Lue.

Team has got some fight and intensity to them on defense.

That was hella fun watching them play defense and rebound in that first half. Team got after it.

If Fred produces a tournament win there will be no debate.

Everyone is laughing at you in your own thread

LOL
Lol right.. Cheer up self-proclaimed loser. Iā€™m sure youā€™ll get me next time šŸ˜‰

Enjoy being stolen from by Matt Rhule again today. I always enjoy watching your need to get the last word in, due to being the smaller man, and having no life. Itā€™s gameday so Im signing off! GBR!!šŸ»

Our weak non-con schedule hurt us in the eyes of the committee

Bad matchup for sure

Unfortunately the NCAA Committee is full of morons who almost always default to ā€œthe numbersā€, with just a little bit of wiggle room to create a story. If always go by the numbers just let a computer do the matchups.

NU weaker non-conference schedule early in the season should not have carried as much weight with how they finished in the B1G schedule and conference tournament. But it did.

Creighton getting whooped by San Diego State right now
Creighton just looks pillow-soft. Their best stretches today were when Fred King was in the game, because heā€™ll at least fight someone for a rebound.

But McDermott thinks heā€™ll be struck dead if King is ever on the court with Kalkbrenner, so heā€™ll never get more playing time.

Now UConn just dropped its second in a row, losing to Colorado. Bad day for the Big East.

Creighton will be an interesting watch this season. I won't count them out, but something is missing at this point. Just no physicality at all.

Theyā€™re undersized and under athletic at guard. Neal and Pop are struggling to find their fit in their scheme. Ashworth was hurt today but generally isnā€™t consistent with shooting and isnā€™t a great distributor. Their best option at the 4 is their freshman. They have a lot of issues to work out.

Ashworth is a big loss for them. He might be inconsistent at times but when heā€™s hot he provides a deep 3 threat that helps Kalk.

Ashworth is a good shooter but Iā€™m confident he would have vanished against SDSU. He always does when an opponent plays tough defense.

Creightonā€™s bigger problem is they canā€™t make a shot inside the arc.

And non-conference schedule will always carry weight. Nebraska needs to schedule more challenging games. I realize they have gone to very soft schedule so they can rack up wins because in Fredā€™s early seasons they dropped games to Incarnate Word for example so they had no chance vs teams from say the Big 12. Going to need to improve non-con competition.

Not a good day for the big east, but Iā€™m willing to bet Hurley will have that team playing championship level ball come March. McNuggetā€™s team, on the other hand, might be toast come March. I see a lot of potential losses on that schedule.

In 2023 when Creighton made elite 8 they had 13 losses including an early season 6 game losing skid. They probably are looking at 5-6 straight losses now with the schedule they put themselves against.

After having watched a couple of our games, I was shocked that we did what we did to Creighton. I watched a little of them earlier and thought we had no chance. I was very surprised at what our D did to Kalk.

Not opposed to a tougher non-con schedule.

May not have been totally clear. While non-con strength of schedule is an element they should also factor in how a team plays early vs. late in the season, which doesn't seem to happen quite as much as it used to. Now it seems like just numbers. I have no doubt the totality of the season probably gets NU an 8-9 type of seed last year, but the way they finished in the B1G and conference tournament they were deserving of a slightly higher seed. My personal opinion is the latter stages of the conference schedule should carry more weight.

Selection committee doesnā€™t seem to be consistent, I think itā€™s like they put more into late season performance if itā€™s negative such as losing 7 of last 10.
