Huskers travel to Paternoville as now 1.5 favorite

Teams shouldn’t lose to teams that they should beat and a sport shouldn’t have games that don’t matter.
Every game matters, it is stupid to suggest otherwise. Losing a game that you are supposed to win is going to happen; it’s the looking like sheet against the equal to lesser team that is concerning.

This team is very fragile. They were never competitive against Purdue, Wisconsin, MSU. Looked lost for the first half against two of the worst teams in the Big. Brice and Juwan have to carry this team, and I worry they are wearing down. I feel bad for them: they stayed loyal and Fred failed to surround them with high quality pieces for their last year.
Brice has a real shot at leaving NU as a 1st team all-conference player

they will also have a chance to be the first to bring home a tourney win in our history

losing a game as an underdog on the road after the stretch we just went through just doesn't mean anything IMO

latest bracketology has us up to a 9 vs the Zags (tough matchup)

My main bitch is that they lost those 6 games in a row, and in doing so dug themselves a hole (grave). But they showed major sack in digging themselves out of that hole. Even though they've been blown out a fair number of times, there's not a lot of quit in this bunch. My personal opinion is that a team can only play with their backs against the wall "must win" type games for so many times until they're just spent. That's what it looked like both Sunday and last night to me. I look forward to seeing them slightly rested on Monday.

Meaningless games are stupid. What’s the point of playing so many games?

We weren’t an underdog, and we got punkd. We got a game against a highly ranked team next, which have resulted in blowouts, which would put us as recipients of back to back ass kickings, going against MN who is playing better (just beat USC and UCLA), then OSU, and then iowegians, who we almost always seem to play down against. Quad 1’s look good, but sure feels like we need no less than 2 more.

If you do the math you should be able to figure that out..

First separate yourself from football to basketball
Oh well. Sorry to buger up your basketball thread. Weird sport. I will continue to hope for Nebraska to do well without watching.

How often does an opponent drain a 3 with Sam lunging at him, but doesn’t make a difference at all due to his lack of size and vertical leap?

How often does Sam beat his man off the dribble, or off a ball screen and then dribble into the lane and then he’s not able to even attempt a finish at the rim? Usually doesn’t see the kick out or dump off pass either. Due to his size of course. I love the kids heart and effort, but his size is real liability on both ends.

It all depends on us and how we play down the stretch. Win 2 or more games and this game means nothing. Win 1 or less and this game definitely mattered. But if you’re asking me, and you weren’t, if we only win 1 more or go 0-5 down the stretch we’ll have proved we don’t belong. I don’t see that happening, but I won’t be that mad about missing the tournament under those circumstances. If we’re not good enough/capable of winning 2-3 more games, we’ll get worked by 25 in the 1st round anyway.

Watching Ohio State just now, that game looks more winnable than it did a couple of weeks ago. Buckeyes are getting all kinds of help from a horrible officiating crew and still trailing Northwestern at the half.

Of course regardless of who or where they're playing, Huskers can't start a game with an ugly turnoverfest and expect to win.

2-2 has us in and ill bet any amount on it.

Couple of points:
Ohio State losing could eliminate them as a bubble. Also makes our win against Northwestern better.
Penn State’s Niederhauser had been out a good portion of their losing streak. Having him back makes them an entirely different team.
