Stromsburg (Neb.) Cross County fullback Izaac Dickey has committed to the Huskers as a preferred walk-on. Dickey was the first FB Nebraska hosted in the spring, and he told @Greg Smith about how impactful that visit was in March:
"It was amazing! I got to talk to Coach Barthel a ton about what he is looking for in a fullback. I definitely want to get back on campus as soon as possible. The environment that this coaching staff has brought to Lincoln is truly something special."
Dickey felt very strongly about the potential to fill a position that has such rich history in Lincoln:
"It’s honestly crazy to think about," Dickey said. "There hasn’t been a true fullback recruited since the late 1900s. To be the first one back on campus makes me hold my head high for a position that hasn’t seen the light of day in a long time. Now i’ve just got to prove to the coaches that i’ve got what it takes to bring the fullback back."
