Just out of curiosity I looked up the NFL players for each of the past 4 coaches. There is some uncertainty because some of the players only made practice squads and were only around for a short time.
Solich - 22 or 3.67 per year from the 1998 to 2003 classes.
Callahan - 23 or 5.75 per year from the 2004 to 2007 classes.
Pelini - 23 or 3.28 per year from the 2008 to 2014 classes (there are still 10-12 Pelini recruits that have an chance to make an NFL roster that are still on the team. Realistically, probably only 2-3 will actually make a roster making Pelini's average about the same as Solich's).
Osborne - 28 in his last 5 seasons or 5.6 per year from the 1993 to 1997 classes.
The upshot is that it's too damn bad that Callahan and staff couldn't coach.
How many future NFL players do you think Riley has in his first 3 classes from 2015 to 2017?
