"Husker Nation is Probably Logged Out"

Not what he said and you know it. I think he is over rated. Been a big part of the woes in the losing streak. But intentionally misquoting him to further a narrative. I will from now on refer to you as CNN.

Who is this directed at? The person who wrote the original X was a local sports reporter in Lincoln. I didn't get the feeling he misquoted him on purpose to push an agenda, but I guess I could be wrong.

He gone. It will be bleak for sure. In years past we at least had offseason titles to look forward to with rounds of kool aid. Not this year.
You’ve been saying that a lot lately. Gonna look stupid when he’s still with us next season.

Unless he’s gone. Then I’ll look stupid for this post.

But I don’t think he’ll be gone.

To be fair, you've looked stupid for a lot of posts 😂

I kid, I kid. Just bustin your balls.

In all seriousness, I'm not quite as emphatic as @huskerfan1414 but anyone thinking he'll stay is basing that purely on emotion, optimism, and hope. The heavy odds would be that he's gone. Which might not be that bad of a thing...for him and us.

Heavy odds that he's gone? And what are you basing that on?

I don’t feel it’s just hope… I’m basing it on some circumstantial evidence as well. First, his words, where he talks about next year. Sure, he could be blowing smoke, but I’ll take it at face value.

A bigger reason is the fact we we still have a chance for Michael Terry. If DR was planning on leaving, I would imagine Terry would not even consider Nebraska.

Of course, this may simply be me being wrong again, but at least there’s more than just blind hope to my thought process.

We could have Lynn Swan in his prime but when Dylan struggles seeing open receivers when the D is in man coverage, then it wouldn't matter.

Hope Dylan figures it out for next season.

That wasn’t my point at all. The point was simply that since Michael Terry still has us neck and neck with Texas is evidence that DR will be with us next year. Those two are apparently pretty close. If DR is gone, Terry would no longer be considering Nebraska, in my opinion.

IMO we had better hope like hell DH stays. That would at least be an identity. Then build upon that. I’m tired of all these OCs that are not worth the TP they wipe with. Or are using NU as their first OC job. And if DR leaves? I’ll wish him the best. Danny K will be ready to go.

Exactly. All he does is spin, spin, spin, all day, every day.

What has he said about next year that would make you think that? You talking about the mention he made that this thread was started about? "Next season, we'll see" give's you circumstantial evidence? If anything, that makes me more skeptical. Surely there has been more that makes you think that? But either way, I don't put a lot of faith in "next year" talk. I've spent enough time just being a Husker fan to recognize that has zero meaning.

And with regard to Terry, that can go both ways. The emotional, optimistic, hopeful person sees it as a positive. Conversely, the other side of that coin is that if DR was staying, Terry would have already committed by now. Very easily could be that the reason he hasn't is that he's waiting to see what DR is going to do because he knows it's an unknown at this point.

Again, I'm not emphatic that he's leaving. I'm just saying the smart money would be on him leaving and if you don't acknowledge that, you're just being the eternal optimist. Which you always seem to be, which I often times appreciate and respect, though I don't often agree

Yeah, it was his words in this thread. Which, like I said, could have just been him blowing smoke. But I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt.

And sure, Terry could be waiting to see what Raiola is doing. You are absolutely right. The fact remains, he’s still uncommitted to Texas and seriously considering us, which I choose to believe means Raiola isn’t going anywhere. Like you rightly point out, that answer may simply mean he isn’t going anywhere YET.

But I also am an eternal optimist, like you say, which means I’m gonna see it the other way. Can’t help myself on that.
