Husker FAMILY, come together

I was playing pickup basketball when I heard that LSU's punter Colby Delahoussaye was injured in a car accident that killed two other kids, I'm sick to my stomach to get my phone and hear it was Sam that died.

Prayers to all families and friends of the 3 and I hope Colby makes a full recovery.

Breaks my heart.Nothing I can say would heal the pain the families are going thru right now.Just know that we deeply care.

Don't know how to feel. I grew up in Greeley the same small town the Foltz family is from before they moved to Grand Island. I was a senior in high school when Sam started kindergarten and had the pleasure of being a teacher's aide for his P.E. classes. He was a fun kid and quite a character even back then he could always make you laugh or smile. Just a sad day thinking of that little kid as I knew him isn't around any longer. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.

He was uplifting when he was here. Bet the players feel him this year and play their hearts out for him. They know even more now how special their brief opportunity to leave their mark is. What better way to pay tribute to Sam than to unify and be great for him.

Damn, one of my favorite players on the team. Huge loss for Husker nation. Prayers to family and friends. R.I.P

This makes me so sad to hear. Two young men's lives ended before they've really even started. Prayers to their families and to the Spartan family and Husker Nation.

I just found out about this now. I can't even imagine the devastation his family and friends must be feeling. Sam was an excellent representative of the Husker Nation, and we all wish him the best in the afterlife. Rest In Peace, Sam.

Rip from the big and Hawkeye family. Putting away rivalries may he rip and my condolences to everyone that knew him. The Hawkeyes went through this many years ago with Chris Street you never forget but are blessed for knowing them.

As a parent & grandfather I can't imagine their pain. Prayers to the family.
His twitter page profile leads with "follower of Jesus". Too soon but as I tell my kids, you never know when you'll go so you had better be ready. Sam was ready. Way too young but he was ready. That's the only comfort his parents can take.

Still processing all of this. I am gutted for his family, friends, and teammates that have to continue on without him

Prayers for his family, friends, and teammates as they begin that journey. No words ease their pain but may they find comfort.

Ready for what ?

Bo Pelini

"Sam was a tremendous person who came from an outstanding family," said Pelini, now the coach at Youngstown State. "I was privileged to be his coach for three seasons. He was someone who always made a difference on and off the field and was well respected and loved by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his parents, the entire Foltz family, and all his current and former teammates and coaches."

Coach Cotton retweeted a picture of the player gathering, didn't notice any comments. Coach Brown doesn't tweet, to my knowledge at least and coach Els has an account but not tweet. I didn't notice anything on coach Warren's page, and I refuse to acknowledge another assistant.

If there's other former coaches tweets, please share them.
