Cornhusker defensive tackle commit Deontre Thomas has slotted his official visit to Nebraska for January 20. The Mustang, Oklahoma product said that his parents will be coming with him on his trip to Lincoln.

He is continuing to be recruited by Oklahoma and TCU, but neither program his offer him as of yet.

"No, not right now," Thomas said about taking any additional official visits to other schools. "I have been talking to (Coach John) Parrella and to Mike Riley since they went down to their bowl game. They told me to have a Merry Christmas and stuff like that."

Cornhusker offensive tackle commit Brenden Jaimes will also be officially visiting Nebraska on January 20. The Austin (Texas) Lake Travis standout will be bringing his mother and father along with him as well.

Jaimes has been to Lincoln this year on an unofficial basis for the spring game and the home game with Illinois. After his season concluded, he was offered by Baylor and TCU, but says he is solid with his pledge to Nebraska.

"They just said that their biggest thing was it being closer to home, but honestly, I'm 100% comfortable where I am right now, especially with Nebraska. It's just the atmosphere around Lincoln. It reminds me a lot of Austin, so outside of football I think I will be just fine."

As to the possibility of him taking additional official visits, Jaimes replied:

"As of right now, no sir. I'm probably going to be rooming with Matt Sichterman and Austin Allen, and then someone else who I'm not quite sure who it will be yet.

After losing their opening game, Lake Travis finished their 2016 campaign with a run of 15 straight victories culminated by winning the state championship in Class 6A DI.

"It turned out really well. We won state and that was awesome. I just felt like this class was something special and, obviously, made something happen. All around, I think it was a great group effort."

Jaimes was named the district offensive line MVP, as well as first-team All CENTEX and All-Midlands, and honorable mention all-state.
