Cliff notes version.
First 11 games - 4 Road, 7 Neutral Site
- UC Riverside - went 7-17 to finish Big West play in 2018
- Oregon St - 2018 CWS Champion. Will be playing in their 5th straight game in Surprise by the time Nebraska gets to Arizona. The Beaver's new coach is a long time OSU assistant and recruiting coordinator. Expect the machine to keep purring.
- Texas Tech - another MACHINE. 2018 CWS team.
- Sam Houston St - 39-22 overall and 24-6 in the Southland conference. The Bearkats felt snubbed by NCAA selection committee last year, looking to build their resume.
- Mississippi St - Made the 2018 CWS semi finals with a interin head coach. Bulldogs still ended up hiring Indiana's Chris Lemonis this offseason.
13 game Home stretch
- Omaha - Ended 2018 with a 15-35 record. Guess who they beat in 2018?
- Baylor - Won the 2018 Big XII tournament, eliminated by Stanford in Regionals
- North Dakota St - took 4 of 5 from Omaha last year
- New Mexico St - won the Western Atlantic, eliminated by Texas Tech in Regionals
- Air Force - Also thrilled to have a service academy come play in Lincoln. Mountain West team that finished the past season 24-30.
- Michigan St - start of B1G play. Sparty swept the Huskers last year in only 2 games as cold temperatures kept cancelling games.
5 game Road stretch
- Creighton - Ended 2018 at 34-16. Swept the Huskers
- Minnesota - The Gophers will play 21 straight Away/Neutral site games before coming Home for the first time in 2019 to face the Huskers. Apparently U.S. Bank Stadium is not available to play indoors this year. The Gophers are sitting on top of the B1G, rightfully so.
- Kansas St - went 5-19 in Big XII play. Split series with Nebraska last season.
4 game Home stretch
- Purdue - the most up-and-coming team in the B1G the past 2 seasons.
- Creighton - Blue Jays only game in Lincoln.
3 Road games @ Penn St - maybe the worst team in the B1G over the past couple seasons. Don't be surprised if the Nittany Lions are not motivated from the last time the Huskers were in Happy Valley. But Penn St is trying to make improvements as Perfect Game had their recruiting class at 65th nationally and 5th in the B1G.
Home game vs K-state - 2nd game vs Wildcats
5 game Road rivalry stretch
- Omaha - only game at Werner Park.
- Iowa - last time the Huskers were in Iowa City was 2015. Hawkeyes got the sweep over the Huskers. Last season these teams split the series as the 3rd game was cancelled due to weather.
- Creighton - 3rd match up, 2nd @ T.D. Ameritrade Park
3 Home games - Illinois - is another B1G team making noise on the national recruiting scene obtaining their first ever Top 25 recruiting class (22nd by D1 and 24th by BA). The Illini were so close in 2018 of having a really good year. At times flirting with the Top 25 polls and going deep in B1G tournament play but still falling short of making Regionals. Michael Massey is their stud at 2B.
3 Away games - Northwestern - had that great B1G tournament run in 2017 and then fell off the face of the planet going 6-18 in B1G play the following season. Trap games.
Final 6 games, all @ Home
- Arizona St - fascinated with the Pac 12 match up towards the end of the season. Tracey Smith connection already mentioned. The Sun Devils did not have their best year in 2018, ending 7th in the Pac 12. Smith is already considered on the 'hot-seat' by his AD if things don't get "significantly better". Could be stressful in Lincoln.
- Michigan - last time these two teams met was 2016 when the Wolverines swept the Huskers in Ann Arbor. Michigan did not have the season they expected in 2018, limping into B1G Tournament play. But expect them to be back, during fall exhibitions Michigan went to Kentucky and won 8-3. Should be a good match up to end the regular season.
- B1G Tournament - Omaha, T.D. Ameritrade Park May 22-26

There is no easy games. No one can be overlooked.
Huskers have to earn every Win. 9 innings or more every game.
2019 could become a outhouse in a hurry OR it can be a special year.
