Pass defense: 31st
Passes Defended: 19th
Total defense: 30th
Scoring defense: 18th

Last year we were ranked at the bottom of the defensive stats. Great turnaround! Keep up the great job!

good points ... we are going to need help at DE - hopefully someone develops but we are going to be extremely green -- a top notch JUCO would help immensely

We all knew the D-line was going to struggle till they matured. They key point is what we've seen IS struggling. And that makes me SMILE.

We've got some young talent here already. Once we flip Tyler Shelvin, this D-line class is going to be amazing. We're already off to a good start for 2018 as well. Parrella is going to have a lot to work with going forward.

We've got some issues to fix if we want to see a solid Nebraska defense. I don't think we lack talent or playmakers but we do lack consistency and in a major way. This has been an ongoing issue for awhile now and at times you see exactly what our guys are capable of then they go out and have a major breakdown to erase previous progress. That and this bend but don't break crap isn't going to get us far at all, Ohio State and Wisconsin will exploit the hell out of it. I like a lot of what I see and improvement is there but they still have some messes to clean up if they want to actually compete for the conference. We need to generate a much better pass rush too..

We need to pick and choose when we bring pressure cause the line is still maturing. It's high risk high reward right now and Banker is rolling 7. We need too keep everything in front because it's what we need to do to be successful. We're playing extremely smart right now.
