6-2 sure sounds a lot better than 5-3 if the Huskers can find a way to defeat Miami tonight.

Miami features a senior backcourt duo led by 6'5 senior guard, Sheldon McCellan who is averaging 17.5 PPG. They also have a 7 footer, senior Tonye Jekiri. This is a seasoned squad that finished second in the NIT last season to Stanford by 2 points in OT.

The oddsmakers have the Hurricanes favored by 6.5 points, but it isn't insurmountable if the Huskers can shoot the ball effectively. This will be a tough game going against a heavy senior team. The home crowd CAN make a difference if they are amped up, and they should be. Miami is ranked 21st with blowout wins over Mississippi State, 16th ranked Utah and 22nd ranked Butler. Do not take this team lightly.

Go Big Red!

This game feels like it's about to get out of control. We're turning the ball over way too much.

Man, even if we lose this game, the team is clearly showing they're capable of hanging with Top 25 teams. If Miles can get a big man next year who can be a real force on the boards, this team gets scary good. Right now we're at least a team that's going to make other teams worry.

On a side note, did the ESPNU studio guy just have a root canal?

Where is the guy who said Shields has limited upside? That guy can flat out ball and is the most consistent player on the team.

This is a really nice looking team, win or lose tonight I love the flow and vibe I get from this squad. And I'll say once again, Morrow is going to be maybe our most valuable player by the time he's a junior or senior. Real solid potential out of him.

Seriously, where the hell do they get refs for these games? Miami has been mugging us all game, and has 5 fouls. Then to take the cake, Miami player clearly touches the ball before it goes out, and ref standing about two feet away doesn't see it. Should have been Nebraska ball for last possession.

I think what I like most about the team is there isn't just one or two scoring options. They legitimately look to spread it around and go with the guy who's open, rather than have Terran just decide he's going to shoot no matter what.

Now that Miles finally has his players in the program, I couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds for Nebraska basketball. These new guys can play and guys like Webster and Hammond are much improved. I think we're a big man away from really making a splash in the B1G

I wasn't surprised at all.
I've been reading this board for a long time, and realized long ago that some people are straight up stupid.
Well yeah, but there's stupid and then there's freaking brain dead. Firing a coach in his third year, one year removed from our first tournament appearance is mind boggling stupid.

Kind of like that pass from Webster.

I wanna like Webster. I really do. Especially after this weekend, but that dude seems to consistently lead the team in bad decisions.

Miami uniforms suck.
Look like they wearing Santa/Elvis belts.
LOL I didn't think about it until you mentioned it. Their PG looks like the elf in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer who wanted to be a dentist instead of make toys.

Great opportunity to get a quality win tonight. Really need to take advantage of getting a quality opponent at home.

Another crappy shot by Hammond. Seriously. He and Parker need to just understand they shouldn't put it up unless they're 2 feet from the hoop and no one is around them.

Huskers hanging around. Miami has threatened to open up a big lead a couple of times, but NU has fought back.

Parker has hit 2 or 3 big time 3 pointers tonight. His inside game is awful but he isnt bad from the outside

Unfortunately, you can see the team sort of seize up whenever they're in a position to tie or take the lead right now.
