Let’s assume Riley can grasp the obvious. How can he assist in making the transition as beneficial to NU as possible?

First of a do no harm. Sew positives with the current players and recruits. I believe he is the kind of person that will do that. He could start now “regardless of what happens NU is a place that will treat players right and will win big.”

MR will probably be gone in three weeks. Would Scott skip the UCF bowl or would he send a trusted staff member ahead to work with elements of Riley’s staff. MR could also set the tone for that period. “We need to do everything possible to keep things moving until Frost arrives - conditioning, etc. Have everything in top shape for him. Stay with recruits that would have opportunity to contribute. The opposite of Bo basically.

Ideally UCF would be coached by assistants and Scott would come on board in three weeks. This is what Tom Herman chose to do. But UCF might be in a New Years Bowl so may not happen.

Two words- bye Felicia!

Riley is a class act. He is not the prick our last HC was. He will handle himself in the manner he always has until he has his last box packed and he turns in his key to his office in for the last time.

I have nothing but respect for Riley.....it just did not work out here.

All any coach is expected to do is go out the right way. Thank everyone for all their hardwork, thank the university and ride off into the sunset. Don’t hold secret meetings and badmouth the school, the fans and your boss. Don’t encourage the players to transfer. Just say thanks and leave.

Yea, it's not his fault he was hired here.

I wish him well and like the guy but he should have never took this job in the first place.

That's what pissed me off about Pelini-- we gave him 7.9 million and he holds secret meeting and bashes admin--- that's why I wished the university would have fought him on the payout

Its starting to look like the message he communicated in that meeting was pretty spot on. He called the last AD about every name in the book. Same thing most of the posters have done.

"F'n lawyer-- all he does is write policies"

Even if Bo was right about SE, do you think Riley would handle himself in the same manner as that a-hole? At the very least, MR has brought some class back to the HC position at NU. He was just not a good enough coach to get it done here.

I want championships!!! GBR "he's nice"

I don't care how he does it. I didn't care how Bo did it. Didn't bother me at all. I don't care about the coaches and I can't imagine they give a crap about me either.

We will see ho w things end I could see a couple of assistants take some parting shots at the program and fan base

Riley should be grateful for stealing millions from the athletic department and setting the football program back. When a real staff gets in here you’ll see an enormous difference!
