It seems that NU has a lot of interest from wide receivers this recruiting class. How many scholarships are available?

Seniors (3):
Jordan Westerkamp
Brandon Reilly
Alonzo Moore

Juniors (1):
De'Mornay Pierson-El

Sophomores (2):
Stanley Morgan Jr.
Zack Darlington

Freshman (3):
Lavan Alston
Derrion Grim
JD Spielman

Commitments (2)
:
Keyshawn Johnson Jr.
Jaevon McQuitty

Assuming we're currently at the optimal level, we should have three scholarships available due to the departing seniors; however, there are already two commitments and it seems there are many more still on the board with legit NU interest - Tyjon Lindsey, Jamire Calvin, Maurice Bell, among others. Obviously if you can get a blue chipper like Lindsey you make room no matter what, but what about the other guys?

I think we might see the scarcity of available scholarships entice some of the lower rated prospects to make the commitment more quickly than they might have otherwise. In the end, I think NU has four scholarship WRs in this class, which is actually too much to allocate to the position in my opinion, but due to the quality of prospects, it probably makes sense to do it anyway.

85/22 (leaving specialists out for the math) = 3.86 per spot*3=11.6. We will have 6 on scholarship at the end of the season. So four would seem to be a reasonable number, especially if the talent pool is strong for the class. Maybe we even take five. Four is certainly reasonable.

I've always heard the 4-5 range. Could increase with players like Tyjon Lindsey potentially waiting until signing day.

Is his son a corner or a WR? I'm not sure which one but I thought I heard he was working with corners?

I thought he played WR at Fresno. I haven't heard of a position change, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
