I would say 1 for sure...kicker Drew Brown. Maybe Jordan Westerkamp or Nate Gerry. That's about it.

One guy that could play for those two is Carter. Give him a competent qb and he would be a stud, take into consideration he was a really good blocker, he would get burn there.

Drew Brown is it. Honestly, Westerkamp is a good receiver but if we are ever to be in position to play for real trophies again soon in the future, guys like him need to be our third and fourth options,
Not our star.

Look at what Clemson did to "the OSU". Remember what OSU did to us. We have a long ways to go. Gotta have patience and give the coaches some time. Be a true fan instead of a Democrat who whines and complains if things don't go their way.

If Alabama and Nebraska switched rosters 100%, I guarantee you that about half of our current starters would start for Bama. :D

Of course they would have pulled the redshirts off the freshman OL so that would remove a couple starters already.

Hard to say not too many right now but the decoloment of of the seniors their first too years wasn't all that great

I think we underestimate a few of the guys on our team. The great thing about football though is that it is a team sport and sometimes the sum of the parts is greater than the parts by themselves if things are clicking. I really believe that our coaches this year got about as much out of our talent as they could have. Sure IF we would have had a healthy TA we could have kept things closer against OSU and probably beat Iowa and maybe Tennessee but all in all I'm not all that disappointed in how we did considering our lack of depth and injuries. I think the depth thing is going to get a whole bunch better next year everywhere but the D line maybe. Backup depth at Dend and DT concerns me. Need some studs this recruiting cycle added to the commits we have.

Not to hijack the thread but how many of our coaches would also fit on those coaching staffs?
Most of them IMO. Dabo isn't a genius. He's a great recruiter with a ton of talent in his 500 miles radius. I really don't think Saban and his coaches are geniuses either. Saban is a relentless worker and tremendous recruiter. I think he's proven that as long as he recruits well, it really doesn't matter to a degree who his assistants are. Great talent can make great coaches. Doesn't guarantee it but it sure does help. Clemson will fall off when they have to start over at QB.

I've seen some interviews and read some stories over the years on Saban's coaching practices/methods...

Anyone that has coached with him knows he better pull his weight and coach hard.

FBletterman said it above that players would quit, and I bet some would. If they didn't quit, he would send them on their way if they weren't pulling their weight.

Saban coaches to win championships and nothing else.

Sad, so sad-- you smokin something on New Year's Eve if you think Gerry. Carter is not better than Howard at Alabama.

Didn't say that. I said he would PLAY as get BURN at both schools. I don't see anybody else even sniffing the field.

Healthy Tommy would have needed to make an awful lot of tackles for NU to beat Iowa and Tennessee.

Clearly we need more talent. But, do we have enough talent to stay within say 8 TDs of Ohio St next go around? Is Iowa really 30 points better than Nebraska? I'd say no.

Obviously none of our offensive or defensive lineman would even make third string on their teams. Can you imagine the Alabama or Clemson defensive front going against our offensive line? With all of the sacks that would take place, Nebraska would have negative 25-50 rushing yards. Winking

No excuses!!! Good coaches have to coach them up. Fire Urban immediately since he was shut out and didn't compete against a more talented team.
Based on recruiting rankings I believe Urban had the more talented team if you ask some people.
