how do we beat ohio state?

Well there's 5 games between now and then. And to be honest, hope guys like Barrett, McMillion, etc can't play? Honestly, I don't know how we beat them but we'll see! Never know what will happen on any Saturday.

where does ohio state get all them players? I've been told over and over, unless you can recruiting texas all is for nothing.

At Wiscy will be the big one, highly ranked, huge division implications, etc. if we win that one and lose at OSU, things are still looking good.

We probably don't. As far as I can tell there is only one team (Louisville) that I would give an even money shot to beat the Buckeyes. If we play well and get some breaks maybe we can come away with a win, but there is no shame in losing that one if we play well. We're heading in the right direction as a program, but we still have some catching up to do before we're back to our rightful place. I'm happy with where we are now because I know we will only continue to improve.

Turnovers and play our game.

Oklahoma kinda sucks.......Big 12 defenses are garbage.

As we've seen countless times, anything can happen when they stap 'em on. Ohio State at its best and Nebraska at its best is probably an Ohio State win. But an injury, some turnovers, a hot day for Tommy, etc. anything can happen.

As others have mentioned, got to keep getting better week to week and keep winning the games we should. Would love to see undefeated Nebraska ranked in the top 10 roll into Columbus to find out.

Seriously, I'm not worried about the game in the Horseshoe. We need to keep building as a team and use that as a dress rehearsal for the Championship Game. Let Riley build a solid game plan to take them down when it matters the most. The pucker factor for the Buckeyes will be exponentially bigger then anything we'll be dealing with win or lose November 5th.

Ohio State? Who is that?

There is the next game to work at first. I want to see Northwestern beat soundly.

Exactly, easy to look ahead but I really want to enjoy this season and take one game at a time. ..

We still need to beat NW, Illinois, Indiana and especially Wisconsin which is much more of important game for us if we want to win this division and win the Big game that matters on Dec 3rd for CC.

We have four games before tOSU, three of which are divisional games. Win those games and the game against the Buckeyes is meaningful.
As for beating them, if they are on their A game it is a tall task. Not just for us, but for nearly all BCS teams. I would say the keys would be being very sound defensively and playing controlled on offense with as few mistakes as possible. Basically play like MSU when they bring their A game.

I have to give OSU props. I thought they would be down a bit this year losing all that experience. Last night they looked like a well prepared, tough, and fast football team. Damn Urban Meyer! MSU might be better than I thought as well.

Hope they run that game plan they did against MSU last season.

I mean that no forward pass thing OSU tried last year on them.
You mean the game plan where MSU dominated both sides of the line of scrimmage? That game plan allowed MSU to overcome 2 turnovers deep in their own territory to win.

we wont and it will probably be ugly but there is always a chance to play again in indy

You don't know that.
I believe Riley has himself a very gritty hard-nosed team. We just need to do the little things to be successful against anyone.
1)be smart with the ball
2)limit big plays from scrimmage
3)play solid on special teams
4)play tough

Football is one of those games that can be incredibly overanalyzed. Do the little things and you can win a lot of games. And those include ones you were given little chance in.

If you thought that was a well called game by OSU......MSU still had to win, but they played right in your hands.
I'm not saying it was a well called game...just saying that MSU imposed its will on Ohio State...which some seem to discount or ignore when the give the narrative of that game.

Gotta take care of everyone else on the schedule the same way. Scoring more points than them.

1. Ever seen or heard a detailed college football game plan? Coaches analyze EVERYTHING!

2. Every coach stresses all of the top 4 things you listed. Dont you think OSU will strive for the same things?

3. How did the OSU athletes look compared to OU. It often (not always) comes down to who has the best athletes.

4. Injuries and a bit of good fortune could make a difference - who can forget the last time we beat OSU and then MSU last year.

5. There must be a name for this - why is it everyone thinks their team has improved but fail to recognize the opposing team may also have improved. We tend to look at them as the same team from years past or even the last.

I agree with the little things but they are very technique oriented. OSU has some great athletes, assume they match all items you list - then what?

Wisconsin will be on a four-game losing streak when we face them. They will be out of the division race. Who knows, maybe they'll still give us a decent game though.

I understand the point you are trying to make but what a foot in mouth post...there most important player, JT Barrett, is from Texas. Ohio State gets their players from everywhere btw...

I understand their qb is from almighty texas, but without them being in the big 12 they are not supposed to be able to keep their head above water with just mostly "rust belt recruits"

I think Riley needs to sit the whole team down, ask them to listen carefully, and inform them that the tOSU players put their pants on one leg at a time just like we do.

That speech worked a couple times when my South Omaha Eagle midget football team played league powerhouse Brandies.

Then what...
We play with a chip on our shoulder and punch them in the mouth. And when they give us that look we punch them in the mouth again!

Tough thing for us is playing Wisconsin the week before OSU. That's going to be a physical game. Good news is Wisconsin has to play a ridiculous schedule right up until they play us.

I have no thoughts on beating OSU but am scared to death of Northwestern. They appeared to awaken in the second half last Saturday after sleep walking through two and a half games. And they play us tough historically.
