Hoosiers come into the Vault as 4 point Underdog

Fun game. If we’d lost I’d be cussing about the FT shooting. Eulis can’t stop anyone from driving to the right block. Other than that, we’re screwed next year without Brice. What a player.

Another Nebraska beat down of my Hoosiers in hoops. The players on both side change, but with Woody and his overpriced roster, the results remain the same. Hopefully the IU Admins have seen enough and send him packing. Congrats on the win.
Thanks. Unlike others in this thread I did not see this win coming. I have almost zero faith in our BBall program. Good luck the rest of the way Hoosier.

Ummm... You must not have watched Fred Hoiberg coached teams. Nebraska was 18-1 @ home last year. May I ask what will guve you faith? Fred has this thing going and if you watched the Creighton game it was a defensive coaching gem.

I've been around since Cipriano and have believed the BBall hype more times than I care to admit to. I'm damaged. I'll cheer one game at a time. 😎

It was Perfect payback for the beat down in football..
Good Luck against the Irish..

Indiana is a football school now, you'll just have to get used to it! ;)
For 40 years, used to never miss a game. Knew exactly who IU was playing, on what channel, tip time etc. Pretty much since Archie sunk things, save for TJD’s last 2 season’s (Woody’s first 2), I often don’t know, until it shows up on TV, they are even playing. And like last night, didn’t watch. Just followed score updates on my phone. That 13-3 start in the first 3 1/2 minutes didn’t surprise at all!!

If Fred had this IU roster, NIL resources, etc, they’d probably be top 5 in the country. With Woody, whom I loved as an IU player, they’ll be lucky to finish with a winning record in the league. Can’t shoot, can’t defend, especially off the ball, can’t pass out of the post. They do nothing well…except make lots of undeserved NIL money.

As for football, it’s been a great ride!! Made 6 games in-person, including Nebraska. Hoping for forecasted bad weather to continue for next Friday at ND to drive the ridiculous prices down to just only overpriced, so can jump in. Easy ride from Chicago-area.

Good luck rest of hoops and in bowl game.

What I find interesting is that we’ve been in the conference for 14 years and have only played Indiana in football only 3 times while Rutgers joined in 2014, 3 years later and we’ve already have played them 6 times..

We've played IU in football four times since we joined the Big Ten:
20016 in Bloomington (NU win)
2019 in Lincoln (IU win: Tom Allen cries)
2022 in Lincoln (Mickey Joseph with the W)
2024 in Bloomington (I don't remember a single snap)

My bad I forgot about Mickey Joseph win in 2022..Shouldn’t have not missed that one.🙄

The main reason we haven’t played them much is cause of the divisions. We were not even in the same division when it was legends and leaders. (boy were those names stupid. I don’t even remember if we were a legend or a leader 🤷‍♂️) And of course they weren’t in our division when it was East/West.

Legends.

True but neither was Rutgers and we’ve played them 6 times.

4 times to 6 times isn’t really all that surprising/weird to me. But they’re probably the team we’ve played the least from the traditional members. Doesn’t seem like we’ve played Penn St much since we went to East/West. But I’m guessing it’s more than 4 total.

We played PSU in 2011, 2012 and 2013 when we were a Legend and they were a Leader. When we went to East-West, PSU's West Division permanent rival was Iowa, so we have played them only twice since: 2017 and 2020. In the no-division, 18-team Big Ten, PSU is the only program with no permanent rival. That's the way they wanted it.

Having spent much of my young adulthood witnessing the 1979-1983 series between NU and PSU, I figured it would be a great annual game between two of the "adjunct" Big Ten schools. Turns out they didn't really want anything to do with us.

There is a handful of people on this site that want Penn St at the end of the year instead of the Clarkeyes, this would be news to them.

Been pretty obvious why it’s them and not Penn St when everyone else plays rivalry games or close geographically..

Big 10 gave us Ohio State for cross rivalry game.

Tough day for Big Ten hoops, with A&M taking down Purdue and Auburn absolutely shit-stomping Ohio State.

Some of these gaps not playing teams is crazy. Pretty sure IU has only played Minnesota 4 times since 2008…’21, ‘18, ‘13 and ‘08. The ‘08 game was at the Hump Dome. Only played once at the “new” TCF Bank Stadium.

That is truly odd..

Husker BB back in action tonight after more than a week off. Playing Murray State tonight in Hawaii on ESPN.

Don't know much about this year's Racers, but seems like they might be down a bit this season.
