Honest question - Put yourself in the shoes of Mike Riley, what do you do?

Stay The Course For This Year. Keep Teaching Keep Coaching. Conference is the focus. If we lose a couple there, Then you abandon everything and start preparing for next year No Matter What.
And Either Way RECRUIT LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Team is still searching for an identity. We aren't a great passing team because our line is a sieve and qb is still learning a new system. We aren't a running team because we don't have the line or a stud feature back.
The defense this season is a throw in the pot mix of whoever they think can play right now to help us win a game. It's really a mess when you look at the defensive roster (thanks Bo).
What's evident to me is that both sides lack toughness. There's just no real bad ass additude on either side of the ball which goes back to identity issue. The team is trying to find out who they are. It's going to be interesting how the the season plays out. It could either be 2008 Huskers who played better as the season progressed or 2004. Either way GBR.

I agree with some of what your saying, but I'm not sure why you question their toughness after that comeback at Miami. Certainly TA is one tough dude. Our passing game is pretty darned good and Newby is running the ball at a very effective clip. Its game 4 in a totally new system with multiple freshmen playing significant minutes on defense at key positions. What did anyone expect?

Whoa 1969...that's a lot of barfing going on (which is a lot of lost nutrition). Pretty harsh demands...you wanna kick Lewis off for making a dumb play b/c he let his competitive emotions get the best of him?? Dumb play? YES. Did it cost us the game? NO. Pfft...we don't have someone even 1/2 as good as him to fill in.

I agree that this team needs to show more discipline but running stairs and barfing doesn't guarantee improvement (you might as well put some salt tablets in their mouth and shut their access off to water while you're at it...)

Riley needs to get this team to play more focused football and execute better. We have the players/schedule here to win 75% of our games and he needs to deliver on that. His players trust him...obviously the fans don't (and why should they...he hasn't done anything yet...hasn't had time to). I'll give him some time but he's not getting even 4 yrs if he can't win..

GBR

I didn't say to kick him off, just suspend him one game. With his history of penalties, the coach needs to send a message. It was poor sportsmanship and not the way a Husker should conduct himself. We should expect better from a Husker.

As far as barfing goes, I didn't mean that to be taken literally. But making them run steps for all the mental mistakes is an appropriate punishment. It just so happens they made so many mistakes they'll probably have to run them until they barf.
