Great news playing two home games in September instead of playing SELouisiana between tOSU and Wisky...
Fordham went 2-1 this spring, beating Colgate and Bucknell, while losing to Holy Cross. In 2019, they went 4-8 including a 57-29 loss to Ball State.
I had no idea Fordham had a football team.
So you’re saying we have a shot?
Their in the Atlantic 10, most know for a Basketball conference...
They’re 20-14 in their conference in Baseball..
Many people now say that about Nebraska unfortunately

I think it literally needed to be done for one single reason:
front load the schedule now that the team isn't traveling to Ireland
the economic impact of playing fordham on sept 4th versus SE La on whatever date is identical, minus, of course, the escape fee Moos undoubtedly had to pay for making the change plus whatever gift they're giving fordham
it's just good business!
#2 bye week between tOSU and Wisconsin since the Big changed the conference schedule from 2019..
I'm not sure going 0-2 with a bye is better than going 1-2 with an FCS win
As many home games as you can get. Not just for the program but for the downtown businesses that have been hammered during this Covid lockdown BS.

Two open dates in the last six weeks of the season. Recovery time for AM2 which he will need if they run him as much as last year.
Per OWH, Fordham gets $500, 000. SE La gets $600,000 if game isn't rescheduled.
Nebraska has non-conference openings in 2024, 2027 and 2029, as well as the entire decade of the '30s.
This is a smart move.

More people hit up Lincoln at the start of the season compared to near the end. And if you are playing a "no-name" team, better to do it at the start.

I like the scheduling part but am I the only person who things playing Fordham is a bad look?
We pay them 500K to come and SE 600K to not come. What a deal for SE. I hope the people come out in droves and saturate Lincoln and reignite things, that is the goal after all.

Playing teams like Fordham is no longer a bad look. All the major programs play pud schools too. People get it.

too bad moos couldn't weasel out of the OU game for Holy Cross at home. then we'd really be talking about Lincoln as Boomtown, USA!
major programs play smaller schools all the time, sure.
it's been 70 years since one's come knocking on Fordham's door, though.
So? I doubt anyone one cares outside of Nebraska. Every week there are pretty big mismatches across the country. I just don't see how this is any different or a 'bad look' in comparison.
Seen every episode at least 20 times and one of my all time fave sitcoms...easy.
Fordham and football still not ringin a bell though.
It's a home game early in the season. It's likely to not be picked up by tv so that allows us to schedule it later in the day or evening and have a big recruiting weekend. No disrespect to Fordham but it is a pretty sure win and it gives us a bye week before Wisconsin. All while not really costing us anything if we reschedule SE Louisiana in a couple of years. Maybe we lose out on some tv revenue but it will be worth it.
It was being discussed on the other board and Sean C. didn't seem to think it would be or at least we would be able to get a later time slot.
