Holgerson to be named new OC

Lies No GIF

I was watching the corn nation show with that Minnesota guy and Minnie gal..and someone in text said holgerson would be named new oc just going over details. normally I don't put alot of stock in you tube video chat comments...but just like when I predicted rhule and raiola to NU before anyone else...I got a feeling bout this...it makes too much sence not to..

I was never impressed with satterfeilds blandness and lifeless play calling..

So… Rhule gonna fire Satt or demote him? Seems awkward to keep the former OC on the staff in any capacity. Of course this is all contingent on this rumor being true…

it's just buisness, sometimes things don't work and you have to make them work. maybe have sat do tight ends and recruit the south east alot

article date: August 😆

masterful troll job, but don’t do this while we’re delicate

No way NU changes offensive coordinator mid season.

With someone already on staff? Maybe. Essentially just changing play callers.

With someone from outside the program? Highly, highly unlikely. Bye week does give us 2 full weeks to pull it all together. But that's still a ton to do in a really short amount of time.

Bringing Holgo on with just 3 games left in any capacity is highly unlikely, let alone as the new OC.

In his defense, as delusional as he seems, I think he's trying to say that a bunch of hiring groundwork is already done (i.e. the vetting process) since we did already meet with him and explore the option of bringing him on staff earlier this year. In other words, we'd have a jump on the hiring process so we could turn it around fairly quickly. Still not buying it though.

holgerson could just follow sat around and see what he does, while learning the play book...making adjustments along the way..like run here, pass there...use the time out there type thing (and tweek plays or add subtract new ones).. then it's a seamless transition, like I say sat can be tight ends coach and a analyst/recruit se guy....with most ncaa rules discarded thats probably possible. then it's not a big wholesale change but an improvement game by game till the seasons over then make the announcement..and sat is not hung out to dry, just knows he bit off more then he could chew..everyone wins..

every other post on here has been fire sat now type deal...this is a more logical way of addressing the problem...
and maybe holgerson is perfect as oc and not a hc...like bo...just a real good coordinator..

and if you read the article holgerson said he was looking for a job with less stress...but I'm sure he would know exactly what to do with raiola's arm, and not have him as a piñyata out there..

Links, nostradamus?

Should be easy for you to show your work on these 2 predictions
no problem,

I'm not claiming to be nostrodomus, he was some quack...I just use logic and reason when decisions are to be made

HC/Rhule, OC/Holgerson, DC/White....I like the looks of that....then we just need to focus on the special teams issue...
it's best when folks know their craft..like Milt as oline coach not hc, or McBride as dc not hc...sometimes you can get too many cheifs and not enough warriors.

I posted the other thread about it because Carriker mentioned it. I could see Dana making suggestions if Rhule called him up and sent him some tapes on the offense. Doubtful he would fly up to Lincoln during our bye to kickstart our offense hands on. That would be the wackiest thing to name him OC during a bye in an attempt to get another win.

Thanks for showing your work. To be fair, the Rhule one was a hope/guess on your part. You admitted as much later in the thread. There were like 10 of those per day back at that time. The Raiola one, I will give you, looked to be that you had some inside info a couple days before it was official. At any rate, it appears this is much more the former than the latter, right?

I think the misleading part is the thread titles. You state these things as facts when at least 2 out of 3 are just guesses. Maybe educated guesses, but guesses none the less.

If this thread title were something like "I'm predicting Holgerson will be our new OC next year" and then you went on explain that you think he'll be here right away in some kind of interim advisory capacity, then be named permanent OC after the season, you would be getting a lot less crap.

All that being said, who the hell am I to tell you how to word your posts? You do you, man.

We. Just had Rhule say they had outside eyes to evaluate the offense and now the leap is to say Holgersen is named OC. Wouldn’t it be more logical to realize that Holgerson would be here as a consultant.

I'll eat my socks if we make a coaching change mid year. I give it a zero percent chance of happening for performance reasons. Something legal, then that's a different story.

Rhule's smartest hire of his tenure.

Can he go 2/2 and bring in Ferentz Jr to fix the OL?

Props to you. Husker radio did confirm DH is in Lincoln as a consultant (OC probably)

great call, @redwine65. you were right and i'm ecstatic you were!
He’s added as a consultant. Not the OC. We already knew Rhule was bringing in a consultant. I won’t be surprised if Satt is out and Holgerson takes over as OC after the season, but he’s not the OC yet.
