Holgerson N (formerly known as: "Holgerson soon to be named OC")

So… Rhule gonna fire Satt or demote him? Seems awkward to keep the former OC on the staff in any capacity. Of course this is all contingent on this rumor being true…
Wouldn't surprise me to have 3 co-OCs at this point. What the hell is a co-OC? Someone calls the plays and develops the offensive philosophy. One guy.

I lot more optimistic about the last 3 games of the season..

Commend Rhule for getting more help this needed to be done sooner than after the season..
Yes, I agree with you but in addition, Rhule sees the consequences of not bowling. It will get very hot seat & probably is now hot seat. He see Satterfield is not the answer last yr & this yr. Rhule is mumbling & not clear at the tv interviews protecting his bad staff hires. OC, special teams, receiving coach! Step in the rifht direction it is. Something bad emotion wise has taken over the team!🤪

Thanks for showing your work. To be fair, the Rhule one was a hope/guess on your part. You admitted as much later in the thread. There were like 10 of those per day back at that time. The Raiola one, I will give you, looked to be that you had some inside info a couple days before it was official. At any rate, it appears this is much more the former than the latter, right?

I think the misleading part is the thread titles. You state these things as facts when at least 2 out of 3 are just guesses. Maybe educated guesses, but guesses none the less.

If this thread title were something like "I'm predicting Holgerson will be our new OC next year" and then you went on explain that you think he'll be here right away in some kind of interim advisory capacity, then be named permanent OC after the season, you would be getting a lot less crap.

All that being said, who the hell am I to tell you how to word your posts? You do you, man.

Dana used to be more of a wr coach but recently has been a qb coach? Who's automatically out under this scenario? I assume he isn't coaching te's so there can't just be a straight up trade for Satterfield.

I suspect both Thomas and Satterfield will take new opportunities after the season. Satt has to be gone and I don’t think Thomas would accept being the co-OC to a new OC/play caller.

"an improvement game by game till the seasons over then make the announcement"

"He’ll work with the offensive staff in a role that will evolve as the season goes on"

many a time in life, one has to read between lines and see the writing on the wall.

as a side note we will be of the understanding mr fritz has beaten utah and ksu with players known to our soon to be oc..

Rhule here is definitely doing something to get the ball rolling on off-season changes. This is what the people wanted. This can only be viewed as positive news given the situation.
this is not what people wanted.

people wanted heads to roll.

Holgs was here in January, Rhule let him walk.

now that the horse is out of the barn and 3 counties over, he's back.

what a shit show.

The season is over in 24 days without a win. Kind of a strange quote.

Why not? We suck.
Because it can get worse. Hopefully he can make some suggestions on a more logical game plan and play calls but the playbook isn’t changing this week. I have no doubt that we’ll see some new wrinkles but we’re not going air raid against USC.

It can worse than losing to a 2 win team? No.. we’ve reached rock bottom. Satt can’t even design a simple slant route package. He’s a bum and needs to be shot out of canon as the next pregame flyover

You can’t change your offense in 2 weeks. Hopefully he can help in game planning but I’ll be surprised if we see any immediate impact. It could actually initially cause problems😕
True, you can't make a wholesale change in 2 weeks. But you can make some changes/tweaks that can make significant differences. Look at how much our D improved under Busch after Frost was fired. They weren't world beaters but the improvement was striking.

Might see more of whatever short passes that MIGHT exist within the playbook (haven't seen much for non horizontal short passing).

That and in shotgun 1st and 2nd down, an emphasis that if we're breaking the huddle with a pass play called (typical Satt) we audible to a quick effective inside run when only 5 or less in the box. Should be automatic.

only 7 teams in the country throw the ball more than TCU.

they rank:
127th in rush play %
111th in yards/rush
122nd in rush att/game
123rd in rush yds/game

once again, it seems Rhule's words and actions are at odds.
Well the better argument is offenses where he had a direct hand in. This though only truely helps your argument. As from 2008 - 2023 his offenses rank an average of 90th in rushing percentage.

I guess the positive is that he does take advantage of light boxes as 1st RB averages 914 yards and rb2 averages 534. Only 3 times has his offenses been below 80th in rushing percentage.

I know it is at a totally different level but I once ditched my defense that we had for the entire season and put in a 3-5-3 in pre-game for the last game of the year and we were just fine...

I mean, we still lost, but the defense was a lot better.
