He's just not an isolation player, and that's all we're doing tonight. Anyone seen an actual offense? I haven't.
Wouldn't you take the buyout if you could get it? I've often wondered how many coaches purposely tank to get fired and not have to work. Sure would be tempting.
Essegian is a spot up shooter that needs other guys to be a threat. Our bigs are bad shooters. You can't get spot up shooters open when you have 3 guys on the floor who can't shoot. Gary's perimeter shooting is eratic at best.
He had some open looks in the first half and shot airballs. Had a few turnovers where he drove wildly to the hoop and threw up a brick. Like clockwork another crappy non-finish by Gary.
I'm not disagreeing with anything you said.... but Essegian has been shooting terrible for awhile. I don't know the numbers but I'm guessing pretty terrible the last 8-10 games. In this day and age a "shooter" has to make shots when he's open. He's missed a ton.
I'm sitting here asking myself why I keep watching this...... We suck. Refs suck too but we suck more.
Gary tries to turn it over and somehow gets it to Essegian...3 He shouldn't get an assist for that.
I don’t think most coaches get a full buyout if they resign. (quit) It’s usually a negotiated amount lower than your full buyout. So if you’re greedy you gotta tank it to get all that $

You get nothing if you resign unless they negotiate a price for you to "resign" to save face.
You gotta admit, for a guy that hasn't played all season Jacobsen isn't doing too bad.

Yeah, I know contractually you get nothing if you quit. But we all know that’s not how it usually works. Schools are usually more than happy to negotiate a lower buyout package to get a bad coach off their hands. As opposed to having to suffered through another losing season (or 2) so they can afford to fire his ass.
Remember a few years ago when Miles had to play a bunch of walk ons, led by Johnny Trueblood? And they were actually better than the dogcrap we watched all season? One of our O linemen played one year. Why is Ulis on our roster?
He gives maximum effort and it makes a difference. His effort has actually opened up some shots and offense for Gary and Essegian.
Essigian is reminding us why he needed to play more this year. You can't expect a shooter like him to spot play and be good. Full disclosure, while he's limited defensively, I'm a fan of his potential offense.
I was kinda thinking the same thing. Sometimes you just gotta let a guy play.
