Although this series is not really considered a rivalry, I think the Gophers have played Nebraska the most out of the BigTen teams. Win or lose, cheers to Nebraska from Gold country! Sad i can't be there in person, so I'll just say I wish for a clean competitive contest from afar.

Anyway, Cheers!

Yes. 57th will be tomorrow. Minny leads the overall series 31-23 with 2 ties. Iowa is second most games played. NU and UM played every year between 1934 and 1952. Including a 52-0 and 61-7 pasting by the Gophers in '43 and '45.

Well 84-13 is a tough one to top(1983?)... I think Mike Rozier was on that team. I think my Gophers waved the white flag after that one.

That team had a lot of husker stars on offense that many still consider to be top 3 players of all time on offense... Rozier, Turner Gill, Irving Fryar, Dean Steinkuhler... as lopsided as the score was, a lot of teams experienced the same thing that year.

I played against a player who was the next man up after Irving Fryar in highschool. Von Shepard. Von jumped 25' plus in the long jump. Was tops in the country (HS ) in his senior year. Wasn't topped till a Florida athlete bested him a month or two past his highschool senior year. He blew his knee out vs Auburn(Sugarbowl). He ran the wildcat in HS before it became popular. Great athlete! Another guy was Lawerence Hart (O.L.)(Played with him in 8th grade football). He transferred out of Nebraska, but in H.S. he was another great athlete. Too bad he was going head to head against the likes of Steinkuler, etc.
