Head coach Scott Frost back to UCF

McKenzie Milton has been hired as the QB coach.
Milton was the main reason the UCF offense thrived. Would have loved to have seen what he could have done in the NFL.

I suspect he'll be able to teach the QB's in his room how to make quick and efficient decisions, like he did.

McKenzie Milton has been hired as the QB coach.
Ever since Milton almost lost his life after that Nov 2018 game in Tampa as he was bleeding out on the operating table...Milton has "coached" Dillon Gabriel in 2019 & 2020...then played and coached at FSU with Norvell and Jordan Travis in 2021...and then has coached with Josh Heupel at Tennessee the last 2 years.

No one knows the Frost Offense for a QB better than McKenzie Milton and now he brings some knowledge back for playing under Huepel and Norvell too.

Also...probably no player in UCF history is more loved than McKenzie Milton (maybe tied with Shaquem Griffin)...and KZ has always loved UCF...as even Heupel tried to keep him on at Tennessee with a nice raise after KZ got the offer from Frost...but even Heupel told him "follow your heart...UCF is home for you".

Will it work out in this new free agency and NIL World? No one knows but UCF was losing some big boosters and tons of fans who were sick of Gus Malzahn so it's at least a fresh start...as Frost will be given time...as UCF's roster has been gutted.

Where does this leave Verduzco?

Screw him. His sorry ass had one year where his record was above. 500. I'll chuckle every time I see UCF getting punked.
UCF went 4-8 (2-7) in the Big 12 last year with a heavy Senior laden team with some highly paid transfers and it failed miserably.

Malzahn had back to back losing seasons and 2025 was going to be a total rebuild so he ejected (UCF saved $12 Million as they were set to fire him) so fans are giving Frost several years to right the ship.

Not many think UCF will go 6-6 in 2025 but in 2026...most UCF Fans hope he can find his QB (2025 he is stuck with leftovers) and start to turn the ship around.

Truth be told I will be really mad if he finds success at UCF. Because if he does find success there for a 2nd time, it’ll mean that he’s doing something there that he refused to do here.
He won't have the distractions down here like he did in Lincoln (dying father, too many pals, couldn't go anywhere in town without being bothered, etc...)

Frost (and his wife) enjoys anonymity in Orlando...as his comment in his opening presser about "stopping when your happy" is now easier to do without pressure from his Dad, Osborne and others.

Milton played under Frost, Heupel and Norvell.

After his horrific injury, Milton was basically an extra QB Coach under Heupel and Norvell...and then under Huepel again for the last 2 seasons at Tennesssee.

There probably isn't a player in UCF Histoey more revered than Milton and there isn't a QB Coach who knows the Frost offense backwards and forwards like Milton...and now Milton can work with Frost and add some twists he learned from Norvell and especially Huepel.

Milton's dream was to coach at his alma mater and I think he will be an incredible recruiter for UCF and a very good QB Coach.

there's a lot to be said about not messing with happy. frosty is a case in point. there have been many others. it's the reason, amongst others, that i appreciated guys like scott drew, mark few and bob mckillop who found their space and played it.
