...can I get a Reader's Digest summation of the game? Watching it tonight...

I was wondering where sparty was at. You're like a fixture on this site. Of course, you're a fixture at the U.S. Open and Washington, DC as well.

NU pounded the rock. FSU could not run the ball and had to pass. Could only muster a few sustained drives, but those 8 yard completions obviously drove Blackshirt316 nuts. In the end, we wore them out and won going away. Offense very vanilla. Riley not happy with the silly fouls and team execution. Sam Foltz tribute. Had a punt blocked that led to an FSU score. The End.

We looked good early - took a 2nd quarter nap that let FSU make it interesting at half - played better in the 3rd and dominated the 4th. Special teams were not special. Defense struggled a bit on short pass game - but once your looked at the entire game and stats...it was a good overall effort. Run defense (and control of LOS) was better than expected. We did show some corner and LB blitz packages - so clearly Banker understands he needs to get creative to put pressure on QBs. Freedom was kept pretty well controlled - looked like he saw alot of 2nd blockers and flat got held a bunch.

??? Where did you get that from?

FWIW I was generally fine with the pass D. We took away the deep stuff and anything outside and the holes in the zone were exactly where they wanted em to be... in front of the safety's but short of the sticks. Tackling was good too. Only major issue with that phase of the game was that Newby and Kalu (when showing blitz) both struggled to quickly cover the flat and were slow to get position a couple times leaving the boundry corner in a bad spot.
