our program be run into the ground like this. 2007 happened and now we're 5-7 again.

Nebraska used to be synonymous with football excellence, now it's just some place people drive through on I-80. All we can hope is for Riley to get things straightened out, but what is the likelihood of that happening? We're approaching a time when most recruits won't even have been alive last time Nebraska won a conference title. How do you recruit to a place like that when the program is already declining?

I don't know if Riley can turn it around or not, but I'm quickly losing confidence in a couple of his assistants, and we know how that worked out with Cally & Cosgrove. Another yr like this and he should get his walking papers. We can't survive 3 or more yrs of this.

Which assistant do you equate with Cosgrove-status?

On offense, though turnovers killed, I would take the offensive production as one of the top teams in the conference, even with a QB that doesn't read a defense or make many good decisions.

On defense, I'd have agreed early on but actually quite pleasantly surprised to see the team play much better by the end of the year. No longer were receivers wide open and the last two games I think averaged around 250 yards given per game.

I am quite optimistic for the future and think the coaching staff is good.
