Oh I agree, he was never going to sit and watch, he needs to play and until I hear otherwise from coach Rhule I feel Thompson was always going to be an insurance plan for Nebraska this year. It's going to an interesting year to see how much development happens with the back ups. We are always going to see QB's hit the portal with the new transfer rules in place, it's a new era in college sports like it or not.

So you appear to be the world's foremost expert on HH. Let's say Sims breaks his leg on August 1st. What would we see out of HH? Let's see some stats and wins predictions. I need to get this on record.
It would be no different if Sims had never came and it's Thompson who gets injured. This not a very uncommon situation for any high school, college or professional team that the back up will most always be a a huge question mark.
What’s best for Nebraska is probably Sims lighting it up and us getting a top portal guy next year.
HH developing into one of the top available guys in the country is certainly possible, but probably far less likely than Rhule getting a more consistent performer to transfer in.

I think one of the top reasons Nebraska has sucked for years is that we cannot get our hidden or even not hidden players situational and position moves, weird loyalty and doghouses. If were losing, give someone else at least a f*cking shot.

I hope Sims wins the Heisman and have never said anything other than he’s our clear QB1
I think there is a real chance that Sims is no where near as good as CT was, and that could become obvious to the fan base after a few games this season.
If that happens, where does Rhule go from there? Maybe HH gets some 'Tebow time' this season?

Also, I didn't say I was a CT fan, just that there is a chance that Sims is not as good, and if that turns out to be true, then how does that reflect on coach Rhule and what his options are for the season with HH.

They were searching for a corner last year and a true frosh was the answer.
Which is why I'm leery of HH. We were desperately searching for qb too. And even with D-3 level qb play the coaches still wouldn't give HH a shot.
I am with you on the value of HH and can see him being used like Tebow was. That is a possibility that most people are discounting and you have to give the staff props for seeing the talent there when others did not.
I can just see a situation where due to our OL, that we have trouble in the run game (again) and now have a less accurate thrower than last year, resulting in worse offensive output.
And unlike Callahan Rhule didn't hire his college roommate as DC.
