Seriously, this is not meant to be political. So please don't take it that direction. If mods think it's heading that way, please delete.
I am in the business, but usually pay little attention to cable news, as it's not in my wheelhouse (professionally speaking). However, got my ratings book (actually, nolonger an actuall book, receive it digitally) and happened to glanced at the cable news category.
Simply want to point out how many (on both sides of the aisle), think cable news is running the political discourse in this country. If you're one that believe this, you're living in your own bubble, and part of the problem. Take a look at the numbers, and seriously consider how few people actually watch these networks, while considering we are a country of 320 million.
Average daily audience:
#1 FOXN 1,720,000 up about 24%...Number one, but still less than 2 million viewers.
#2 MSNBC 912,000 up about 58%...Think how low it was in the last ratings release.
#3 CNN 796,000 up about 65%...not sure how they stay on the air.
Comes down to the simple fact that the vast, vast majority of Americans don't watch cable news. The overblown assumption by the ideologues, on both sides, that Americans are brainwashed by cable news, proves absurd and incorrect. Positive news for our country, regardless of your political leanings.
Sorry… Can't can't link, as this publication is subscription material, and copyright protected. Sure it can be found other places online.
