Since his name has been thrown out, a nice read about his defense. Should be nice to get the "speed/attack" and 1-gap 2-gap debate going again, considering his particular philosophy.

"In very simple terms, the defense is less concerned with pure speed and penetration, and more concerned with building a wall from sideline-to-sideline."

Carrol's comments about what he couldn't do at SC were enlightening as well.

Nice read-ups. Definitely an intriguing DC prospect for Riley's staff. Coached under Monte Kiffin, Jon Gruden and Pete Carroll. Even though he didn't really succeed as a head coach at Jacksonville, he's still a defensive NFL guy with connections all over the place-- Washington, Florida (Jacksonville and Tampa Bay), Minnesota. Seems more like a coordinator to me than a head coach because of what some Jaguar players said after he got fired last month in December. There's also a significant difference in coaching NFL players and college players.

For the right $$ a college Coordinator job becomes very attractive.

Wonder if the right $$ could get Chris Spielman out of the booth. He's destined to become a coach sooner or later.
