Grinch sh!tcanned

Similar houses he would want are probably 3 times as much in LA as they are in Lincoln. I think he has young kids. Rhule has an 8 year deal. I actually think he would have more stability and a better lifestyle in Lincoln at a much smaller salary. I don’t see him going anywhere.
This is totally off the subject, but my best friend has a house in Lincoln that has the same tax assessment as mine. His is newer, nicer, better built and at least 1200 square feet bigger than mine. You would think he would pay less property tax than me. I pay just over $4000 a year and he pays more than $10,000 a year. Property taxes are high in Nebraska. Probably not as high as California.

It’s funny how the real estate taxes work in CA. I’m not sure their levy is as high as Nebraska’s. Somebody posted a comparison and for the same size home the property taxes I think were similar. It’s the other stuff. My daughters car insurance almost tripled in cost when we changed the garaging address to CA. Lots of companies have pulled out of the CA insurance market for homes and autos.

Trev needs to offer Tony $2 mil in the morning. He's the best the Huskers have had since McBride. Mostly like the best assistant period in that time. I think the Huskers have to show they are serious.

Well, I’m not sure you have to give him a raise next week. A shrewd AD will wait to see if and who is targeting one of their coaches, then act accordingly. I don’t think you give him 2 mil until you know someone is willing to pay him 1.8 mil. If nobody the likes of USC comes calling, you can probably pay him around 1.5 and lock him up for a 2/3 more years. JMO

Satterfield probably won’t like being passed by White. Do you make them equal in salary?
He's managed to produce the 113th top offense in the nation (even after being given the gift of facing Colorado's defense OOC) , so I doubt he would have much to say.

As I posted earlier Riley gives two shits about D . I don’t think a big timer will go there.
Riley needs to find his Zach Arnett. Leach cared enough about his defense to give them their own coach and practice time, instead of just using his 1st string defense as a punching bag for his offense to practice against as most offensive head coaches do. The punching bag defenses are always terrible.

Riley also is a young coach who goes by analytics, but not the analytics that speak to the benefits of complementary football. Some have suggested he poach Iowa's DC, but ironically some of Iowa's defensive success is related to their offensive style. Parker's defenses would not be as good if paired with USC's offense, but even some head coaches are not able to put 2 + 2 together.

Except for the white sweatered cheerleaders. Tops

Riley was stupid for even taking him to USC. He was awful at Oklahoma too.

Alex Grinch was actually Riley's third DC, after Mike Stoops and Ruffin McNeil at OU.

Although Grinch is a horrible DC, I think the larger problem is Riley's philosophy and approach to football. The problems go way deeper than just the DC, like strength and conditioning, the overall culture of the program, cohesiveness, etc. He might have a real problem getting an elite DC to come to USC, because it might be seen as career suicide.

Not just the other stuff, but look up Mello Roos. I know somebody that just bought a house in Orange County with a Mello Roos property tax increasing by 2% every year for the next 40 years.
