Ok yeah, that Wisconsin loss stung. It was a game we should have won. And had we won it we would be really surging in national perception. It was a lost opportunity and it stinks.

But... We are still rated in the top 10 and we are currently 10th in the playoff standings. When was the last time we were this relevant folks!!!! 2001? Damn it feels good.
We have one of the best coaching staffs in the nation sitting in Lincoln right now. In 2 seasons they have turned this program around and have us headed to great things.

Yes our offensive line is beat up and our fiercely competitive QB is streaky. Yes we now have to play OSU in the shoe. But we can beat these guys. Five weeks ago I thought there is no way we beat them. I feared a beat down. But this team is special. I feel it. Will we win? Who knows? But we damn sure have a great shot at it.

I have not been this optimistic about NU football in 15 years. Support these coaches! Stop trashing Langsdorf. I trashed Tommy Armstrong in another thread the other day. I regret that. He is who he is. And I am glad to have such a strong senior leader as our field general.

So let's get behind this team and these coaches 100%.

It is great again to be a Husker fan

You might be the most puzzling poster on here, but God bless you, Go Huskers, and have a great day!!!!
I understand. Ha. I admit, lately I have been all over the map with my posts. Still have the lingering hangover/pessimism/negativity caused by the past 15 years, but also, now, really starting to realize that we finally have the right coaches and really are headed up. I am schizophrenic right now. But my optimism grows stronger every week with this team and this program
You have a great day too!

Just a relief not to have to read your constant negativity.

Actually, I have been very positive this season about this team, the coaches, and the direction we are headed. Do I have an occasional negative post? Yep. Everyone on here does.

But I challenge you to prove, with citations from posts over this past season, that I am "constantly" negative. You won't be able to

This is ridiculous, but not surprising given the source.

Not surprising since you didn't live threw the the total era...

More importantly doesn't know Husker history.

Jealous I quess.

Outside of the fact that strep throat could kill you (it did kill George Gipp) one could argue that there was no better time to be a Husker fan than from 1911 to 1915 when we went 35-2-3.

Lol...Good one.

We're young and beat up yet we won't back down from anyone!

I don't know if I would call us "young" whatever that is. Before the season started, it was the number of returning starters that was a positive for the team. By my count, looking at the depth chart for tOSU game:

Moore WR - SR - shares with DPE
Hahn - SR - Left Guard
Utter - SR
Corey Whitaker - SR - backs up about everyone it looks like
Carter, Cotton and Foster - SR TE's
Westerkamp - SR - WR
Reily - SR - WR
Armstrong and Fyfe - SR - QB
Newby - SR - RB

Duzuris - SR - DE
Maurice - SR - DT
Rose-Ivey - SR - LB
Banderas - SR - MLB
Gerry - SR - Safety

That is a fair amount of SR power we are losing there. There is some talent behind them, I wouldn't say the cupboard is bare but it isn't overflowing either. That is roughly 14 starters for this game that are seniors out of 22. Yes, injuries have skewed this a bit but the bigger picture is I can't see where we are all that young. Some good young talent is there - look at the DB's and how stacked they are. Depth is a few classes away yet.

We need to start being like Alabama and run off folks who are not carrying their weight. why do we have a lot of qb's and only one we are confident of playing?

It's been a nice season...let's let it play out.

Also, it won't ever get better than it was in the Devaney Osborne era....because it is damn near impossible to be any better than that. Keep in mind I don't consider any era before the proliferation of African American players. That development changed the landscape of the game more than anything else IMO.

36 years: 356-69-5...20 conference titles and 5 NC's....the balls.

We will have 3 next year. And hopefully the incoming Freshman can burn a year. All the "experts" complaining about taking too many specialists because they think we are going to throw 1000 times a game with "statue" qbs, sure as hell are silent when it comes to qb depth. Which is probably ok with them.

I haven't really been in on the "statue" qb conversations. I took the "experts" complaining that we would take a bunch of sacks, not necessarily the number of time we throw the ball.

As for qb depth, it's like the rest of the team. A two-headed problem resulting from the previous staff poor roster management and the current staff running off players/failing to sign players.

Concerning the OP, yep, it's definitely been a good year for us.
