Good article with some perspective

Yes, good article, MR needs at least 2 years to prove himself and to take in to account the shortage of talent due to injuries and past recruiting. *caveat = there have been clock management, personnel, and play calling snafus in critical points of games that experienced, seasoned coaches don't typically make. Hope coaching staff can get their arms around all that. GBR

Every coach makes management mistakes. Every single one. MR's have been amplified by the fact that this staff isn't comfortable with the kind of players they have to work with. It makes them hesitant with play calls and management decisions. Not to mention, the lack of success this year with our secondary has pretty much bit him on all three of his "management mistakes". Hail Mary, Illinois deep ball, Wisconsin moving the ball at will we're all unlikely events if you have a serviceable pass defense

If we win those games no one talks about the management issues. It is like play calling, if it gains yards it is a great call, no yards and it stinks. Every coach is going to get second guessed and the fewer games they are winning the more the guessing. I remember being an assistant in a small HS and trying to decide when to snap the ball and what to do just to run some clock and that was really small time. I can't imagine what all is going on in a college game with people talking from all directions. Execution takes care of winning, winning takes care of second guessing. simple
