Golf memberships

looking at joining a private club in the Augusta area. The wife and I went on the tour last night and enjoyed everything they had to offer. Monthly dues are reasonable, but the initiation fee is $10,000. For anyone in the know (especially golf professionals) can I negotiate initiation fees at all?
