Give Holgerson Whatever TF he wants.

Doesn’t that complicate things? We have to figure out how to get him more money than he is currently getting paid to do nothing. Same situation that almost made the Rhule hire fall through
Well, tonight he had steroids shot into his veins for the feeling of making a difference in a win that a rabid fan base cared about. I suppose he could choose instead to stay at home and work his honey-do list.

So was Holg a Dannen idea or a Rhule idea? Whose relationship is it? I ask because there was Holg talk before the season began then it disappeared
Because Holg didn’t want it at the time. Rhule made another run and they have a good relationship as they are represented by the same people. Wish DH would have come in early. Regardless I hope we can keep him.

He is friends with Rhule and Rhule has control over his staff. Would take some serious mental gymnastics, or a giant agenda, to suggest the AD made an assistant football coaching hire.

Rhule has no issue giving full autonomy to him. No doubt Rhule will do whatever he can to keep him.
The difficulty is in reverse. Money is not the object to Dana, as they've said he's getting paid big dough for a couple more years from Houston.

The only thing that has a chance to keep him is turning the offense completely over to him, INCLUDING kids he might like in the portal that he needs for this offense next year.

It's been proven we cannot score without him running the offense. It's gonna be a re-tooled offensive line next year, what type of OLmen do we need that we don't have among the returnees and the young kids already in the program?

I think Dana really enjoys calling plays, its up to NU to pony up the kind of dough it takes to bring in 3-4 kids that can make NU a real force offensively.

If Dana chooses to leave, its gonna be a helluva blow to this program. Finally, those offensive kids have a coach who they believe in.

You gotta get these kids to believe in you without blowing smoke up their ass.

Hopefully there is some fire in him seeing the fans react today and seeing our young guys’ potential where he wants Lincoln to be home for a while. Dude will be an instant legend if we close 3 wins to end the season.

Exactly right, they need to make him a rock star in Lincoln.
Who doesn't to be a huge part of turning this program into a real team to contend with every week?

What coach doesn't maybe want the University, after the season, bring in all the high school coaches in Nebraska and have Dana talk offensive philosophy with them?
These cats have big egos, and you gotta feed 'em.

Sure, the head man at every school is gonna get most of the attention, but the great assistants are who the fans know are the guys that make the team go.

It's not a mystery why it didn't happen. Why would he choose to be an underling to Satterfield?

Holgerson is 58. Does he want another run as HC? Does he want to be an offensive magic man in a marquee conference?

We didn’t collapse in the 4th qtr when Wisconsin got some momentum. I’m all in on DH now
First time Rhule has won here when we have given up more than 14. Without DH it's another shit the bed loss. Two consecutive halves of good offensive football against a P4 opponent. Is that legal?

Does anyone know how much Holgorsen is getting paid by us right now?

I don't think he'll get any good head coaching offers after this season, but I could see a team like Oklahoma, Alabama, or Florida going after him to be their O.C.

seems the question is does rhule want the penn state job? or coach at NU for a decade?
cause if he wants the penn state job, in a couple years, holgerson has a clear path to HC in a place he seems fitted for..
sipple needs to ask rhule this at the next press conference..then everyone knows where they stand on the issue and plan accordingly.

but mostly beat iowa

I don’t think Penn state has any current interest in Matt Rhule.

Yeah the only way Penn State hires Rhule is if he leads us to the playoffs....and if he does that, I doubt he'd want to leave.
I'm not sure why he would want to go back to the nfl, places like ohio state and bama are probably Far less forgiveing on loses.
so hopefully Nebraska it is for rhule, with holgerson as oc and white as dc, building a monster..that would be best imho...

I really hope Holgorsen like's being the OC for Nebraska and enjoys the good life that Nebraska offers. As many have said money will not be the issue but rather full control of the offense will be. If Matt Rhule is as smart as I feel he is he will let Holgorsen mold our offensive identity starting next year. I'm sure the University of Houston is hoping Nebraska will sign him to a historic contract that will let them off the hook for the millions he is owed.
