A new coach will really help that groupObviously the oline will need to improve immensely for this to happen which I think will in the next couple of years..

Frost can adjust to Gebbia. Gebbia is very, very talented. Just wish he was a little bigger and more durable.
If Frost is the hire, Gebbia very well be his first priority to convince him being the future QB here...
Concerned about his durability too.
Any chance Frost could get this kid back? Was a UCF commit but decommitted after Michigan State offered. Player of the Year in the state of Michigan.
Gebbia is bigger than that freshman pencil Florida state was playing and he survived the entire season. Of course FSU QB wasn't behind a cavanugh offensive line.

I agree,, but Milton for UCF is 5-11 and about 185, so if a QB is smart when he runs, it is possible to be effective. If Frost is the hire, Gebbia very well be his first priority to convince him being the future QB here...

Shoot we can put 20 lbs of table muscle on him at our house just over Christmas...I'll get him out setting fence posts and he'll be able to tear the head off of a linebacker by New Years...Gebbia is like 6'3 he just needs to add about 20lbs of muscle
Mariotta wasn't exactly a big dude either in college. Still isn't. I'll take quick feet and an ability to make it tough for guys to get a square hit on you. Heck Gebbia is as big or bigger than some of our WRs and they get exposed in really bad positions some times.I agree,, but Milton for UCF is 5-11 and about 185, so if a QB is smart when he runs, it is possible to be effective.
His mobility and quick decision making will allow for a greater margin of error for the line we have right now. And our Oline will do better in an attacking offense.Gebbia is definitely mobile enough.
With a little weight he should be more durable. He looks very accurate but what I like most about him is he moves through his progressions quickly especially for a freshman. He found the check down numerous times. If they can get him a decent o line I think Gebbia could be very good in Frosts offense.
Last I heard he was struggling in the Juco ranks,If Frost has to go the JUCO route, Terry Wilson is down at Garden City C.C. He got him away from Nebraska when he was at Oregon, could he convince him to come up to Lincoln?
Last I heard he was struggling in the Juco ranks,

rushing 87/344 4 td

Riley looks omniscient right now after DL and he recruited the walk on QB Bunch. THAT kid fits Frost's offense very well and I think he could compete at least to be one of the top 3.If I were advising the current NU QBs, I would remind them that there is no other QB on that roster who has shown he has what it takes to start and is also a dual threat. Even if they grab a commit from a guy who can run, he still has to get to campus and prove it against college players.
So you'd be transferring out and blowing a year of eligibility because what, a true freshman is going to come to campus in July and surpass the years of work you have under your belt just because he's faster than you?
There's a hell of a lot more that goes into running an offense than just being able to take off and run.
I think Gebbia will kill it in SF offense. I know there are concerns about his size. I posted this in another thread:
Out of HS, Gebbia was listed as 6'3' 180lbs. Some similar sized duel threat QB's, coming out of HS:
Mackinzie Milton 5'11 160
Teddy Bridgewater was 6'2 180
Alex Smith 6'3 190
Marcus Mariota 6'4 190
Those may be his measurables, but he looks awfully skinny. How will he absorb hits?I think Gebbia will kill it in SF offense. I know there are concerns about his size. I posted this in another thread:

Maybe actually wear pads and avoid hits. He doesn't have to absorb them. While great mass does help, a blind side hit to a 220 lb QB versus a 180 lb QB can have the same results. I've seen lots of skinny players who were tougher than some O linemen. Hardest hits I ever took in football were from 140 lb wrestlers. F=MA.Those may be his measurables, but he looks awfully skinny. Wilson got beat out byIf Frost has to go the JUCO route, Terry Wilson is down at Garden City C.C. He got him away from Nebraska when he was at Oregon, could he convince him to come up to Lincoln?
Frost recruited the current Oregon QB who was a three star local kid and Wilson couldn't beat him out. I'm not sure what the infatuation is with Wilson. Much rather be able to go with a guy currently on the roster. POB, Gibbia or maybe Bunch. Don't think the problem going forward will be QB. There are other positions that need to be fixed starting with running back. Definitely not up to Nebraska standards. If Frost has to go the JUCO route, Terry Wilson is down at Garden City C.C. Am I mistaken or weren’t SF and KJ teammates on both the Jets and the Bucs?!
IThey were on the same Jets during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. And the same Tampa Bay team during the 2003 season.
I think we keep Keith because of his son. But bet DW is already applying elsewhere
Last I heard he was struggling in the Juco ranks,
Gebbia was not 180 when he stepped on campus, i saw him in person and he was closer to 160. Believe it or not i bet hes 195 by next year. Im guessing 195-205 would be his ideal weight in a Frost offense. Dont want to pull a Martinez and put an unnecessary 10 pounds on over his ideal weight. Those may be his measurables, but he looks awfully skinny. How will he absorb hits?
if the current QBs are capable of running Frosts system then why would a juco want to come here? and if Frost brought a juco , then the other 3 QBs here should be concerned. Not many programs keep 4 legit QBs who are all capable of starting. something has to give.Gebbia was not 180 when he stepped on campus, i saw him in person and he was closer to 160. Depth baby. Most important position and high chance of getting dinged up.if the current QBs are capable of running Frosts system then why would a juco want to come here? and if Frost brought a juco , then the other 3 QBs here should be concerned. now frost might smooth talk a couple into staying for 1 year but i wouldn't recommendd any of these kids hang around just to watch someone else
they work too hard and could play somewhere
